🎒 WEEKEND FOSTERS NEEDED 🎒Have you ever considered fostering but not quite sure if you have the space or time needed? If so, adoptable Cinderella is here to tell you about the perfect introduction to this life-saving opportunity.

This weekend, the shelter is in need of community volunteers who can temporarily host a shelter dog for a weekend sleepover! (interested adopters are welcome & encouraged to participate as well!)

🐾 The events are a favorite and are very much enjoyed by both the humans and the pups. The shelter will provide you with all of the necessary supplies, while you provide the home and love to your new houseguest.

🐾 This weekend's Sleepover event starts with pickups on both Saturday and Sunday (8/20 - 8/21) and we ask that the pups be brought back to the shelter starting on Tuesday (8/23.) If you fall in love with your houseguest, give us a call and we will walk you through the steps of finalizing the adoption over the phone!

🐾 Haven’t cared for a dog before? No problem! We will provide you with all of the information you need to keep your houseguest happy and healthy! For more information, visit https://fb.me/e/2ED2whm9F

We’re looking for local vendors to pair with! Do you know someone who would want to sell their pet-related items at our clinic? (Bandanas, tags, food bowls, etc) Please share this post to spread the word! ❤️

URGENT! We are helping one of our rescue partners by hospitalizing a kitty of theirs that had to have a feeding tube placed after developing fatty liver syndrome. We are desperately in need of a blender so that we can mix her food into a slushie consistency. Does anybody have an extra one that they would be able to donate to us and drop off today?? Chloe would very much appreciate it!!!

There are so many wonderful reasons to bring a new dog into your home, but the decision should never be taken lightly. It's important to research the traits and characteristics of a dog that best fit your family's lifestyle. Unfortunately, many...

‼️UPDATE: We are thrilled to announce that our power is up and running. We now have enough ice, peanut butter and Kiddie pools! Thank you for your donations and support.

➡️ We still need your help! The Franklin County Dog Shelter does not need any more ice. However, we are in need of bedding or large towels, peanut butter for frozen treats to give to our pups, and kiddie pools!

Feel free to drop off donations anytime before closing @ 7pm. We truly appreciate our community!

UPDATE: You all are amazing! The community donated hundreds of bags of ice to the shelter, and we now have a peace of mind that our shelter pups will be cool tonight, with the supervision of our overnight staff. Thank you all! ❤️

‼️We need your help. The power is out here at the shelter, and our pups needs ice to keep cool in this blazing heat!🔥 We’re calling for the community to donate bags of ice to the dog shelter. Let’s keep our furry friends cool today. 4340 Tamarack Blvd.

Have you looked at the temperatures for this week 🥵? Central Ohio will be in the 80s and 90s all week long (and for the foreseeable future), so please be mindful of what that means for your dog.

If it’s too hot to walk barefoot or if it hurts to hold the back of your hand to the ground for 7 seconds, it’s too hot for paws. Walk your dog in shaded areas and try to do it early in the morning or late in the evening when the ground is cooled off. And if your dog will tolerate them, paw booties are a good (and really cute) option.

Speak! Nation, we’d like to offically introduce you to DUDE!

Dude needs the most expensive procedure we’ve ever taken on as a rescue and we need YOUR help!

He has been diagnosed with a liver shunt which causes decreased blood flow to and from his liver. He suffers from poor growth, unsteadiness, disorientation, digestive issues, and more.

Dude was transferred from another rescue who saved him from a breeder that wanted him euthanized once he was diagnosed.

The surgery to help him is going to cost nearly $12,000, but who could say no to this face?!

He might be the friendliest dog we’ve ever met! He knows no strangers and loves his humans (tiny and big), dogs, and cats!

Please consider donating to his care via this post, our website, or even sending a check.

You’re going to see a lot of Dude in the upcoming weeks, including his very own fundraising T-shirt! We have a lot of work to do and need a lot of help to raise the funds needed! Please consider a donation and please share this post!

**4/16 Update**

Sadly, Twyla’s heart was just too weak to withstand the pneumonia and she passed away at MedVet in Dayton today around 1pm.

We will be tallying all of the donations we received shortly and will post an update on the remaining balance, in case anyone else wishes to contribute.

We appreciate everyone’s help in making sure Twyla got a second chance at life. Unfortunately it was just too late.

Please take this as a reminder not to support Amish breeders. They could have gotten Twyla the care she needed much sooner when they first noticed she was sick over two weeks ago, instead of discarding her and expecting a rescue to clean up their mess.

🐾❤️ Help Needed ❤️🐾

In a truly Schitty situation (pun intended), Miss Twyla Rose came into our life yesterday. She’s a 12 week old English Bulldog who was surrendered by an Amish Mill who didn’t want to spend the money to treat her pneumonia.

Unfortunately, it went untreated for so long that this little girl needed hospitalized in an oxygen chamber. The medical bills are quickly adding up, and will overwhelm our already over extended rescue. If you’re in a position to donate something, anything, even $5, it will help! If you’re not in a position to help financially, we still ask for you take a moment to share her story and send us some good wishes. Thank you for giving Twyla a second chance! ❤️

Donations can be made using any of the methods below (please include in the notes that your donation is for Twyla Rose):

Whew! Don’t let your sassy little Chihuahuas and Yorkies get blown away out there! 🐕💨

Winds in Franklin County will gust 30 to 40 mph throughout the day today with the strongest gusts through the early afternoon hours. Make sure your gates and fences are secure BEFORE letting your dog out!

01/04/2022

If you haven’t noticed, it’s getting pretty cold out there. And if it’s cold for you, it’s cold for your dog too.

While we understand that some long-haired dogs are comfortable in cooler weather (such as huskies and shepherds), the majority of dogs are not. Ohio law requires that dogs have proper shelter to block from the elements and wind, food, and water that is not frozen.

If you see a dog chained outside or living in a dog house, you might be the only one. Please be their voice and say something.

If you do not see a number listed for your county, please do a search for your local humane society.
