September is Animal Pain Awareness Month, so let’s talk about pain!

The older your pet gets the less agile they will be, after all that’s how it is with humans as well! Pain in your pet can be very visible like having a hard time moving, not eating, wobbly on their feet, or crying out in pain. Pain can also be masked especially by cats to where you could have no idea your pet is hurting. There are signs to look out for to tell if even the sneakiest of pets could be in pain.

If you start to notice pain in your pet be sure to make an appointment with us. DO NOT try to treat at home as most over the counter human medications are very toxic and eventually fatal to pets.

Some things we recommend as you see your pet aging once you make an appointment:

🔹 Excercise restrictions or possibly more walks (excercise) depending on situation (obesity, etc).

🔹Yearly appointments and bloodwork, better yet 6 month exams for a senior pet.

🔹 Perscription medications to help ease inflammation and pain, pet safe from a Veterinarian only.

🔹 Joint Supplements from a Veterinarian like Dasaquin.

🔹 X-Rays, diagnostics, bloodwork, or different labs that can help diagnose your pets source of pain.

Others way you can make sure you’re helping at home would be to make sure their area is as comfy as possible. Giving them toys and stimulation to help as a distraction from the pain while keeping their minds sharp. Some people give their dogs massages depending on the situation.

Call us to schedule an appointment if you find your pet may be dealing with some pain or discomfort whether from older age or trauma.

We love all your fur babies as if they were our own and want the absolute best for them! Let us help you give them the best, long, happy life they deserve ❤️.

Starbucks has promoted their fall flavors to get us ready for the fall season. While you’re warming up with your Pumpkin Chai why not warm up with a cuddly kitten at the same time?

Meet Coal; The last of a feral litter of 3 to go home. He is super lonely and loving and is ready for his furever home! He is 12 weeks old and had his first round of vaccines. While he is still kind of skiddish at first he is warming up to people and pets.

What better way to go into the fall season than with an adorable black kitten??
He promises to only take small sips of your pumpkin lattes 🎃👻🐈‍⬛🍁🍎☕️🏈🧡✏️🪦⚰️🕯️🥧🪵🕸️

BACK TO SCHOOL

✏️📚📎✂️🖍️📓📌🛎️🍎🚍

It’s that time of year to start shopping for backpacks, notebooks, pencils, and lots more. While you’re shopping for those kiddos don’t forget about your fur kids also. Back to school could mean back to doggy daycare.

Don’t forget these essentials before starting “school” for your pup:

*Up to date vaccines
*Up to date f***l test and doctor exam
*Monthly flea/tick, and heartworm prevention
*Lots of treats because they’re always such a good boy/girl
*New leash or Harness so they can show off their style to their new potential friends
*Grooming appointments so they can look their best for the first day

Okay, those last few “essentials” were jokes. But if you need any of your pets important essentials give us a call to get scheduled. Yearly Vaccines and Monthly prevention are required for most daycare and boarding places but more importantly are essential for your pets health and well being!

Those of us who love fall are already starting to decorate for the fall season and Halloween. What better way to decorate than with a cute little black kitty 🐈‍⬛.

Meet Pebbles, she is 12-13 weeks old and had first round of vaccines and dewormer!
Pebbles is super scared but sweet, loves to give head buts and kisses. Would probably do best in a quiet home.

Come on in to get your application in for this sweet and spicy girl!

Today is National “Check the Chip” Day!

I know based on Grove City Connect, Nextdoor, and other forms of Community Social Media there are multiple lost and found animals on a daily basis here in Grove City alone.

We as Veterinary Professionals have a love and responsibility for your pets and only want what is best for them. This includes yearly vaccines, spaying and neutering, heartworm prevention, and it also includes getting your pet Microchipped!

If your pet happens to get out and someone finds him/her they can take it to any vet office to have it scanned for a microchip. There is a national microchip database that any professional from any place in the country can type in the chip number. At that point we call the company the chip is registered through and depending on what privacy settings you choose either we or they will call you. Imagine your dog runs out of the gate without your knowledge but within hours a microchip company calls you to say someone found your pet and brought it to Concord and is safe. No wandering around the town, no worries of who has your pet, no calling all the shelters just in case. We understand things happen so why not take extra precautions to make sure you get contacted when your pet is found!

Please take the time today to be sure your pet is microchipped! If they aren’t make an appointment to get them microchipped. If they are microchipped take the time today to be sure all the information attached to your pets microchip is updated and accurate.

Updating the microchip information is just as important as getting them microchipped. I can’t tell you how many times we get excited knowing a lost pet is microchipped only to find out it was never registered or registered under the shelter or rescue still.

Remember, a microchip doesn’t mean it can track your dog but it can help reunite them and bring them home safely.

Meet Max, who has a family that loves him. When Max becomes lost, it's his microchip to the rescue! August 15 is Check the Chip Day, where we remind pet owne...

Meet our next USA Olympian Rubble:

🇺🇸 Just like Simone Biles, he always lands on his feet!

🇺🇸 As quick as Katie Ledecky, but on land of course because he doesn’t appreciate water!

🇺🇸 Can Spike a Volleyball just like Kelly Cheng and Sara Hughes.

🇺🇸 If he had thumbs, him and Steph Curry would be unstoppable with the 3’s for team USA.

🇺🇸 Given the opportunity he could skateboard and medal along side Eaton Jagger.

🇺🇸 Would row the heck out of a boat with the Men’s rowing team, again if thumbs and fear of water weren’t a thing.

🇺🇸 Fencing… also unstoppable if he had thumbs.

I think you get our point here…
We at Concord have an Olympic Prospect that you can adopt and give a furever home! Rubble is a 12 week old male kitten who is being treated for an upper respiratory infection. Get your application in today because the Olympics are more fun to watch with a furry friend.

07/24/2024

The third Wednesday of every month from 12-2 we have a Team Meeting. We don’t have appointments scheduled at this time and we try to not have team members answering the phones. Every team member is expected to be there and this is the one time we can all be together and have the full attention of each team member.

We use this time to brainstorm on ways to better our staff and hospital, talk about protocol changes, celebrate the members Anniversary’s and Birthday’s of the month, and receive further training.

July’s team meeting we celebrated CCC Cortney’s birthday! Happy Birthday Cort and thanks for always greeting everyone with a smile, especially in the mornings! ❤️

In July’s meeting we also had every team member from Technician to Vet Assistant to CCC’s (Receptionist) involved in Restraining Training with the use of Staff Pets. Some of our staff members have been working for CCAH for decades while some have been working for weeks. Either way, we at CCAH find it very important to have every team member involved in training and continuing education.

Between our team meetings, brainstorming with team members, client reviews and comments, our suggestion box, and bringing in different product reps; we are always looking for ways to better our team and hospital so we can better our community and the pets we love and care for all so much.

Thank you Concord Team Members for all you do!

Thank you to our Clients and Patients for allowing us to care for you, make patients feel better, and doing what we all love to do!

WE APPRECIATE YOU ALL 💙🤍🩵

I know many of my friends and family that still work from home 4 years post pandemic. So for those of you that do work from home and in an home office, how many of you would like to have a work from home assistant??

We here at Concord are hoping to find someone out there who needs not only one but actually 2 work from home assistants.

These two gentlemen have been employed at Concord now for at least a month but it’s just not working out. We think they would do better in a household of just one maybe 2 office workers and not 15 to 30. They tend to prefer to be on the computers and use the fax machine for personal uses and napping. In a very busy Veterinary office it’s just not working out to have these gentlemen taking over computers especially when they don’t even answer the phones.

These two gentlemen are very connected and need to go together if possible. They are “employ” one get one free! They are fully vaccinated to ensure your office will remain rabies free, which we all know is crucial!

The best part of this employment agreement is that these employees/assistants WILL not talk back to you unless they aren’t fed on time! They only ask for a restroom, shelter, food, and some cuddles.

We hate to see them go but we really believe they really would thrive in a different place of employment.

We cannot post them on Indeed unfortunately so if interested in getting 2 amazing work from home assistants for the price of one give our office a call!!

It’s July 10th, or as we like to call it, National Kitten Day 😻😻😻

What better way to celebrate today than with two new kittens to add to your family! We have these sweet brothers Mercury and Saturn up for adoption. Both have been neutered and fully vaccinated. That means you have 2 new kittens that are fully healthy and don’t need to come back to see us for another year which is a huge savings for your wallet!!

And as if we needed to give you anymore good news, these boys are now BOGO!

Two fully vaccinated and neutered kittens can be your furrreverrr best friends for the price of one! Hurry and put in your application for these guys because they won’t last long 🤍🖤

P.S. Ever wanted to have a pet cow but never had the space?? Come and take these boys home instead! They’re much smaller, will eat less food, and smell way better 🤣

Call the office at 614-871-1111 for any questions or concerns. All applicants will need to be approved prior to adoption and must have all other household pets up to date on vaccines.

Summer is almost here even though it feels like Summer has already begun with this weeks heat wave. Here are some tips on keeping your pets cool in this heat!

🍉 NEVER leave your pet in a hot vehicle. A car can quickly reach 120 degrees even with the windows cracked.

🌻 Limit excercise on hot days.

🕶️ Walk your pet in the grass if possible. Asphalt can reach temps of 150 degrees and burn your pets paws.

👙Take lots of shade and water breaks while outside.

⛱️ Do not leave your pets unattended in the pool due to risk of drowning.

☀️ Watch out for signs of heat stroke. If you believe your pet is having a heat stroke seek emergency care immediately and be careful not to try and cool them down too quickly with ice.

When in doubt keep in mind that if it’s too hot for you it’s too hot for them!!

What is better than cuddling up with a loving orange kitten?
🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡

NOTHING… the answer is absolutely nothing!

Meet Gill, he is about 7 weeks old and looking for his furever home. He has had many sleepovers with a team member who has dogs and loves them. He takes the best cat naps but is always down to play and has tons of fun.

He does have a typical kitten parasitic disease called Toxoplasmosis but please don’t let that scare you. Gill actually shows no symptoms of it and we found it through a f***l sample. He has been on antibiotics for almost 2 weeks now and once finished he will have no issues, no signs, and no longer contagious. Just need to use proper hygiene and wash your hands after holding and loving him until his treatment is complete.

Come visit with Gill and complete an application today!!

We have heard from many clients how bad the ticks are this season, due to the mild winters we’ve had over the years. This is why prevention is so important all year round. Tick Borne diseases are not only dangerous for your pets but for you as well.
Come in the office to get your prevention now or order from our online store through our website.

Ohio Laws state your pet has to be evaluated by our DVM within the year to get prescription preventions!
