Itā€™s never ending. Hereā€™s a new bunch of rescues.
One of our volunteers stopped by a house in Mercer that appeared to have many strays roaming around. Mostly orange and white cats. She stopped to talk to the older gentleman and ask about all the cats. He told her that over time, people have dumped their cats at his house. ( later found out this road is called dump road ) He was incredibly kind and said he always feeds them every morning, makes sure they have fresh water, keeps his porch heated in the winter for them all and treats them how best he can for whatever ailments he sees. Most of them are feral but they all hang around him while working in his garage. The long haired cat, he called Hairy, was dumped a couple months ago and she was friendly. He said she must have had kittens somewhere because it looks like sheā€™s lactating he thought they were in the woods somewhere. ( probably why someone dumped her šŸ’”)
Volunteer offered to help trap them and get them all fixed and this man was so overwhelmingly grateful. A few days later he called the volunteer and said that mama brought her 4 kittens to his porch. Volunteer went and got the cat family and brought home. 2 days later he calls and said he found 2 more, orange ones. One was a tiny bottle fed age baby that was found up in his fascia. ( thankful to Lynn for taking and caring for it the first week) He heard it crying up there and he climbed up and fished it out. A week later he said that an orange mama brought her 3 kittens to his porch. Again, volunteer went and rescued.
1 mama and 9 babies. To 5 different mamas
We are planning trapping and fixing all his cats. Appointments have been made to do 4 for July 1st clinic and 4 for the July 8 clinic. Heā€™s been watching every morning at feeding time and thinks there are only 8, guessing 5 females and 3 males.
We hope and pray that this is all the babies and all cats will be fixed within 3 weeks and this property will finally stop multiplying.
Now imagine, 9 babies rescued. 5 breeding females, the amount of kittens coming down the pipeline is unimaginable. It happens quickly and it happens non stop. And the multiplication never stops.
These precious babies are safe now. They are cared for and they are loved, by me, the volunteer and by Mama Hairy whom they all sleep with and on. She is the most amazing cat ever. Shes loving and affectionate, to both myself and all these babies. How can an animal trust humans again who have let her down and thrown her away like trash? Maybe she knows thereā€™s a few goods ones left, like all the volunteers and Lori at Grove City Pet Rescue.
We are overwhelmed. Rescuing isnā€™t cheap. The GC property we are finishing up TNR, weā€™ve spayed and neutered around 40 cats. Most all were sick. This property, we will have close to 20. One feral cat there has an injured tail. All have chronic diarrhea indicting parasites, giardia or coccidia.
We appreciate all who support this rescue.
( once I get them all figured out whoā€™s male and female, the fun begins to name them allā£ļø)

Betty Crocker is what some call a ā€œdog catā€ meaning she will follow you around the house as you do your daily stuff and settle in wherever you are. She rolls over in front of you now and then when sheā€™d like a little attention. Once in a while sheā€™ll make a surprise jump into your lap just to say hello. Though Betty is very affectionate, she is not much for being held. Sheā€™s playful with other cats, motherly if they are kittens and knows when to leave older cats alone. Betty came from some pretty rough conditions and has a bit of scarring to one eye to show sheā€™s an amazing survivor! She might be around a year old, is spayed and has her tests and vaccinations. You can adopt Betty Crocker by applying for her at http://www.grovecityareapetrescue.com/adoption-application.html

Mama Pillsbury (mother of the Bakery Babies) is ready for a home of her own!

Mama Pillsbury was rescued from the hoarding house we are helping with on March 19th. She went into labor that night and delivered her babies the following morning in her foster family's bathtub. It's almost like she was willing herself to hold off on labor until she was somewhere she felt safe. She and her 4 babies are all ready for adoption now!

We're not sure how old Mama Pillsbury is, but our best guess is probably a couple years old. This probably was not her first litter, but it will certainly be her last! She has been a great mom - she not only took excellent care of her own kittens, but she also nursed 2 other kittens who were also rescued from the hoarding house (possibly 2 of her nieces??). She's enjoyed seeing her babies grow, but now she's ready to get on with her own life in a Forever Home.

Mama Pillsbury isn't as excited about toys as her kittens are. She prefers to lazily bat at a passing bug or lounge on the window sill in her foster room. She does enjoy watching the others play but won't pass up a chance to put one of her kittens in a headlock and furiously groom their head when the mood strikes her.

Please consider adopting this beautiful tabby gal - maybe even with one of sweet kittens??

Mama Pillsbury been tested, is up-to-date on shots, dewormed, flea-treated, & spayed. Apply here to adopt Mama Pillsbury: http://www.grovecityareapetrescue.com/adoption-application.html

Mama Pillsbury's Bakery Babies are ready for homes - introducing... Banana Bread!

Banana Bread was born in his foster family's bathtub on March 20th (the morning after Mama Pillsbury was rescued from the hoarding house we are helping with). He has 3 other siblings who are also ready for adoption!

Banana Bread is grey with some little white underpants on his underside. He had and darkest coat at birth and consistently gained weight faster than his siblings. He's the natural Leader of the Litter and a true gentleman.

Banana Bread and his siblings love to play - they will chase toys, treats, and even the broom on cleaning day! Please consider adopting one or more of these sweet kittens who were lucky enough to get out of a bad situation at the last minute!

Banana Bread been tested, is up-to-date on shots, dewormed, flea-treated, & neutered. Apply here to adopt Banana Bread: http://www.grovecityareapetrescue.com/adoption-application.html

Mama Pillsbury's Bakery Babies are ready for homes - here comes Drizzle!

Drizzle was born in her foster family's bathtub on March 20th (the morning after Mama Pillsbury was rescued from the hoarding house we are helping with). She has 3 other siblings who are also ready for adoption!

Drizzle is the only tabby of the litter and she looks like her mama! She got her name because her stripes make it look like something was DRIZZLED over her coat!

We knew from day one Drizzle was going to be the troublemaker. A few weeks ago, she sustained an injury to her front paw and we can't figure out how she did it. Her paw has since healed, but she won't tell us what crazy thing she was doing in the foster room with her siblings that lead to that limp! She is quite the wild-woman when it comes to playing!

Please consider adopting one or more of these sweet kittens who were lucky enough to get out of a bad situation at the last minute!

Drizzle been tested, is up-to-date on shots, dewormed, flea-treated, & spayed. Apply here to adopt Drizzle: http://www.grovecityareapetrescue.com/adoption-application.html

Mama Pillsbury's Bakery Babies are ready for homes - say hello to Cocoa Powder!

Cocoa Powder was born in her foster family's bathtub on March 20th (the morning after Mama Pillsbury was rescued from the hoarding house we are helping with). She has 3 other siblings who are also ready for adoption!

Cocoa Powder is grey with some little white underpants and a pointy goatee on her chin. Even when she was a newborn, you could tell she was going to have a little wispy beard. Cocoa Powder got her name from the color and softness of her coat.

Cocoa Powder and her siblings love to play - they will chase toys, treats, and even the broom on cleaning day! Please consider adopting one or more of these sweet kittens who were lucky enough to get out of a bad situation at the last minute!

Cocoa Powder been tested, is up-to-date on shots, dewormed, flea-treated, & spayed. Apply here to adopt Cocoa Powder: http://www.grovecityareapetrescue.com/adoption-application.html

Mama Pillsbury's Bakery Babies are ready for homes - here is Teaspoon!

Teaspoon was born in his foster family's bathtub on March 20th (the morning after Mama Pillsbury was rescued from the hoarding house we are helping with). He has 3 other siblings who are also ready for adoption!

Teaspoon is all grey. When he was a newborn, he had a little white wisp on his chin, but he grew out of it. He is a really good listener but always thinks he is a BIG boy (he keeps thinking he's a TABLEspoon when he's really just a TEAspoon).

Teaspoon and his siblings love to play - they will chase toys, treats, and even the broom on cleaning day! Please consider adopting one or more of these sweet kittens who were lucky enough to get out of a bad situation at the last minute!

Teaspoon been tested, is up-to-date on shots, dewormed, flea-treated, & neutered. Apply here to adopt Teaspoon: http://www.grovecityareapetrescue.com/adoption-application.html

Note, these kittens are not available for adoption yet so we're not taking taking applications for them at this time. Welcome this precious family.
We will begin trapping next week at a house that is a dumping area for unwanted cats. Iā€™ve been passing by this house now a while and noticing a LOT of cats. I stopped by a couple weeks ago and spoke with the gentleman there. He told me that people just drop cats off all the time. I guess people call the road Dump Road šŸ’”
He cares for them all the best he can, making sure theyā€™re fed everyday and in the winter he sets up a heated porch area for them all. I asked if heā€™d like help in fixing them all and he was overwhelmed with gratitude. I told him after strawberry days we would begin trapping them. He told me this beautiful mama, who is one of a couple friendly ones, had to have had babies somewhere because her bo***es are big but he wasnā€™t sure where they were. He thought they were across the road in the woods. My plan was after this weekend(strawberry days) I was going to walk through the woods and try and find them. Well I got the call yesterday that when he got home from work, she had brought her 4 babies to his porch. He called me and I immediately went in and got her and her babies and brought them home. Today he called and found 2 more babies, the orange one and a younger buff one which he found in the eves of his roof. I immediately went and got them. I brought home the bigger one and our wonderful baby foster took the smaller one because it was a bottle fed age.
These babies and mama are absolutely precious. And the orange one fits right in. Mama is caring for them all. Theyā€™re eating kitten food and using a litter box already along with nursing.
Iā€™ll never understand how cats can be so disregarded and just thrown along side a road. The gentleman said heā€™d take mama back but Iā€™m telling you, she is the MOST lovable sweetest and grateful cat. She deserves an indoor home for someone to appreciate how lovable she is.
These are the lucky ones.
Watching them all play and know that they are safe is the best feeling in the world.
I am so thankful for Lori Reynolds and what she does. Her heart is bigger than anyone can imagine. As long as thereā€™s money in the account ( and at times even when there isnā€™t) this woman is out there trying to make a difference in the lives of so many precious animals.
This family is just one of many.
And each one of these babies say thank you for saving them from a life of trying to survive in a very cruel world.

This magnificent tortie girl is Tortie Sprout.

Tortie Sprout is a young gal (under 18 months old) with brilliant yellow eyes. Her fur is a rich tapestry of gold and black with just a couple hints of white.

Tortie Sprout can be quite talkative when the mood strikes her and enjoys chasing toy mice around her foster room. She is quick to purr when interacting with humans and it isn't taking her much time to learn to get along with the other kitties in her foster home. She will certainly keep her new family entertained!!

Tortie Sprout has been tested, is up-to-date on shots, dewormed, flea-treated, & spayed. Apply here to adopt Tortie Sprout: http://www.grovecityareapetrescue.com/adoption-application.html

This precious girl with blue eyes is Little Debbie.

Little Debbie was trapped at the hoarding house, but while in recovery, we found she was very friendly, so we'd like to find an inside home for her (hear ear was tipped as part of the TNR process).

The vet thinks Little Debbie is middle-aged (about 4 to 6 years old). She most likely spent her entire life outside, so her skin & coat were in rough shape when we first got her. Over time, her skin will heal & her coat will improve. She's very friendly with both humans & other cats - come visit her if you are in need of some head-butts & purring!

Won't you please be the one to give her home & help her outer beauty match her inner beauty??

Little Debbie has been tested, is up-to-date on shots, dewormed, flea-treated, & spayed. Apply here to adopt Little Debbie: http://www.grovecityareapetrescue.com/adoption-application.html

This silly boy is String Bean. He is about 6 months old.

String Bean is a growing boy - he's currently long & lean with gorgeous orange stripes. He loves human attention & is learning to like meeting new cat-friends. He can be a bit grumbly when the wet food comes out if another foster wants to eat out of his dish, but he's learning that there's enough food for everybody!

String Bean loves to chase toys & is very curious about new places & things. Won't you consider adopting this adorable rascal & explore the world through his eyes?

String Bean has been tested, is up-to-date on shots, dewormed, flea-treated, & neutered. Apply here to adopt String Bean: http://www.grovecityareapetrescue.com/adoption-application.html
