A special tribute to sweet Gator – his life was certainly lived and loved to the fullest. My heart is with my friends Jeremy and Katie at this time. I know how tough it is to lose a best friend. Jeremy said of Gator: "He was such a legend... a once-in-a-lifetime dog..." What a blessing it was for my family and me to be able to spend time with Gator before he passed.

I'm currently on a trip in the land down under (aka Australia) with my family, and this has been one of the highlights so far: spending time with the dingoes at Australia Zoo in Queensland!

I recently received this beautiful email letter from Regina Bradshaw. What a touching success story!

Bailey came into my life on Christmas Eve 14 years ago. She was the most adorable Golden Retriever puppy I had ever seen. She picked me because she knew I was the sucker that would give into her every desire. You see, I was a single 32 year old female who had a great career and never planned on marrying or having kids. So, Bailey was my baby!

Everything seemed wonderful at first. I trained her as I had trained other dogs. But reality kicked in one morning when Bailey accompanied me for a jog in the city where we lived. She darted left into the street just as a car turned the corner. By the grace of God the driver saw her and stopped in time. It was at that time I realized my training was not enough. She was clearly in danger by not being trained better.

I looked and researched all the products and programs out there. I came across The Dogfather on a late-night infomercial. He spoke directly to me. He understood a trained dog is a safe dog. It was like God again graced us!

Within days of receiving the program Bailey had already taken to it. In fact she was so much happier because she was able to go with me everywhere. Yes, everywhere! Because she was so well behaved, people automatically assumed she was a service dog. Let me be clear, I never represented that she was one, I just never said anything. They never said anything either and just allowed us to walk right on in. Restaurants, Amusement Parks, Hospitals, Schools, Churches, Public Transportation, my work office, you name it, she went with me!

Bailey lived a wonderful and loved life until her recent passing. She was 14 years old when God decided to call her back to heaven.

It should be noted that I did marry and had two human children. Bailey was at our wedding and was allowed inside of the hospital to see & bring home the babies... Again because she was so well behaved.

Thank you DogFather for giving my Bailey Girl and me 14 wonderfully amazing years together. If it wasn't for your program we would not have learned how to ensure her safety and live such a happy and full life in this world.

I have been one of your biggest advocates/ promoters/saleswoman for the past 14 yrs without you knowing and will continue to be.

Just a girl and her dogs. So thankful for our relationship with my dogs. Thanks to Don Sullivan’s training for making this picture possible. His training has made all the difference in incorporating my daughter into our pack and having my dogs accept her without question because they respect my leadership 100% and the fact that Everley my daughter is now part of the pack. Absolutely so in love, my heart is full.

The ultimate goal of "Freedom Obedience" (whereby the dog chooses to obey rules and boundaries of its own accord despite the freedom to do otherwise) should *not* be an optional advanced-level training choice. Rather, this kind of training is essential for everyday trust, harmony, and especially safety.

Goofy situations like this (in the attached video) can easily turn into disasters. A dog owner does not have to dread scenarios like this. Those who are proactive and start preventative training when their puppy is very young (even as young as 9 weeks old) – and/or as soon as their adopted dog first comes into its new home environment – can have confidence and peace of mind that even in the most unexpected circumstances, their dogs will default to doing the right thing.

This is very sad and disturbing ignorance... Dog owners who encourage their dogs to become aggressively dominant in the family are creating ticking time bombs. They think it's "funny" to watch the dog go into protective mode, sometimes with a false romantic vision of the dog one day protecting the children from some bad person.

However, what happens too often, tragically, is that the dog turns on its own family members to (in the dog's mind) keep their "pack" in line. The people never see it coming, and heartbreak strikes in an instant. Then, post-tragedy claims are made such as, "It happened out of the blue – s/he has always been such a wonderful dog, and we just don't understand!" without considering the true cause of the dog attack.
