UPDATE: THIS OFA EYE CLINIC EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED BECAUSE THE MINIMUM REQUIRED 50 PRE-REGISTERED EXAMS WERE NOT REACHED.

The Sooner State Kennel Club is so close to making the Pre-Registration number for the Eye Clinic—ONLY 9 more! 😊 If you all know of anyone who plans to come the day of the dog show or need to get CAER eye exams done for OFA, please have them contact Lindsey Callison tonight at (580) 884-0104 or [email protected]. That way they can have the Eye Clinic at the show.

These 2 dogs were found in Macomb, Oklahoma skinny and covered with ticks. The French Bulldog is microchipped but noone bothered to register the chip (go figure. 🙄 It costs $18 to do that). Southern Paws Rescue is asking for help in finding the owners. If you recognize these dogs and/or know the owner(s), please contact Patti Sears 405-585-3036

New rules applying to dog shows in 2024

Opportunities for Majors at Specialties: Starting July 3, 2024

A modification to Chapter 16, Section 1 of the AKC Rules Applying to Dog Shows was approved by the Delegate body at their December meeting. The modification provides all specialty clubs the option for the Reserve Winners Dog and Reserve Winners Bitch to earn a three-point major provided that the number of dogs competing in the regular classes of the Reserve Winner's s*x totals at least twice the number required for a five-point major, in the region in which the event is held. Previously this option was only available at a breed's National Specialty. Clubs must opt-out on their event application if they do not want this option available at their specialty show. This option is available for events held on or after July 3, 2024.
