Ok not sure this is allowed but I am going to try
One of the moms on my bus route came to me this morning and asked if I knew where she could maybe get some help with Christmas…see she was fired via a text message form the cleaning company she was working for and was not paid for the last week she worked!! She is new to the area and is a single mom of three and her kids are her world!! I told her about toys for tots and gave them her info but I was wondering if some of my Facebook friends could donate some cash or gift cards to this momma…if you will bring them by Doggie-do I will make sure she gets them I want her and her kids to have a happy thanksgiving and Christmas and know we as a community will take care of our people who are trying!!

Ok I have put off writing this but now I have to…I see so many parents complaining about how long their kids are in the bus…I don’t think you get how hard it is to get all these kids to where they need to be and the fact that little Jonny goes one place minday and Friday this week and some place else minday and Friday of the following week and he doesn’t know what week it is and parents expect us drivers to remember is down right crazy not to mention the 30 parents a day that decide their kid shoukd ride a different bus today or maybe she will just pick them up today but does not tell the school until pick up time!!

That’s just the tip of the iceberg…those parents picking kids up if you see all the buses together then you should stop a ways back from the stop sign and let all 10 buses go and stay together. It won’t make you late and if everyone could do that on 10th and Broadway and then again on 7th and Broadway the buses would be out of your way and the kids in our buses would get home 15 minutes early!! Just STOP and let us through!!

We are short bus drivers so if you think you could do it better by all means please come fill out an application and let the school help you get your CDL!!

I want to tell you all that I am very proud of my fellow drivers we almost all have new routes due to the shortage of drivers and they are all doing a fantastic job!!

Does not get the credit he deserves for all he does for this district!! He works untold hours on call always and believe me he does not get paid enough!! I could go on and on about how little he is appreciated by this district but some of you already know he deserves more and better treatment!! We need parents to look in their hearts and see if you can’t drive a bus or help out the schools some other way…come to school board meetings check out how little our support staff is paid get involved!!

I will climb off my high horse and I hope you have read this far and I hope you share this so everyone knows how bad we need drivers!!

All of us drivers are here because we care certainly not for the piddly amount of money we make!! We love our kids and try our best to watch out for them on and off the bus!!
