We're thrilled to announce that Groveport Canal Animal Hospital will be participating in this year's Brockstrong Holiday Lights Parade in beautiful Canal Wi******er! 🌟

Our float is decked out in festive cheer, showcasing our love for pets and our community. 🐾❤️ We’re proud to support the BBrockstrong Foundation an organization that does incredible work to inspire and uplift families and youth in our area.

This holiday season, let’s come together to celebrate the spirit of giving, community, and of course, dazzling holiday lights! 🎅✨

Has your dog or cat been limping, skipping steps, or showing signs of discomfort while walking? They might have a luxating patella—a condition where the kneecap slips out of place. This is a common orthopedic issue, especially in smaller breeds, and can range from mild discomfort to severe pain.

Signs of a luxating patella include limping, hopping while running, or a sudden reluctance to exercise. In mild cases, pets may adjust on their own, but more severe cases might require medical treatment or even surgery.

If you notice your pet struggling with mobility, consult your vet for a proper diagnosis and treatment options. Early intervention can help prevent further complications. 🐾

💉World Rabies Day 💉

Today is World Rabies Day, to raise awareness about rabies prevention and celebrate the achievements in combating this fatal disease. This day also honors the work of Louis Pasteur, who developed the first rabies vaccine, with the date commemorating the anniversary of his death in 1895.

History of World Rabies Day
The Global Alliance for Rabies Control (GARC) initiated World Rabies Day in 2007. The goal is to unite governments, NGOs, health organizations, and individuals across the globe to educate communities and provide resources on rabies prevention. It also supports the “Zero by 30” initiative, aiming to eliminate human rabies deaths by 2030, primarily through vaccinating dogs, the main transmitters of rabies to humans.

The Global Impact:
Rabies is 100% preventable, yet it still causes over 59,000 deaths globally each year. The majority of these deaths are preventable with better access to vaccines and public health information.

On this World Rabies Day, let's amplify our voices and work together towards a rabies-free world. 🐾
