PLEASE READ: You may have seen information about current respiratory virus that has been shared in the media. 🦠 At this time, we do not know the cause of this disease, but it is a virus and does not show up on canine lab testing panels. Although we do not have much information yet, we can advise that the best form of prevention is to keep up to date with dhlpp, bordetella and bivalent influenza vaccines. 🩺

It is also advised to avoid places where there is a risk of exposure to unvaccinated dogs (shelters, boarding, dog parks, Petco, PetSmart, etc.). The biggest clinical sign is a cough that won't go away (2-3 weeks) and then extreme lethargy. At this time, it is mostly in the Pacific Northwest and Northeast states right now. There have been a handful of reported cases in Texas as well.

Please know that the safety of your pets is our number one priority. We are exhausting all measures to ensure that patients are safe in the clinic by designating isolated areas/curbside service for patients that are exhibiting upper respiratory symptoms, sanitizing isolated areas after every patient and training our staff on how to handle this outbreak. If your pets are showing any upper respiratory symptoms, it is important to contact our team to discuss your pets' symptoms and next steps. Oso with Furget Me Not Rescue is our pet of the month! 💙This old man had a leg amputation not long ago, by Dr. Hanson and has struggled to put weight on his body due to a severe case of heartworms. 🪱He is so sweet, full of love and energy even as a tripod! He will absolutely melt your heart with his b***y wiggles. The best part about Oso, is that he is ready for his furever home, so he can live a happy life with a family that loves him!🏡
