This is the kind of stuff we plan on being actively involved in. There are conservation efforts around the world that are doing what they can to help preserve native fishes in their natural habitats. Fishkeeping, as a hobby, helps bring awareness and helps conserve many fish species that are extinct in the wild.

Morning Maintenance on this beautiful little Nature Aquarium. The plants are growing in nicely. The fish are looking great! Next step is to improve the background on this display.

Today's clip highlights the amazing rocks that were collected just up the canyon near us. The big male Emperor Tetra wanted a cameo too! Haha

Every angle you view this aquarium from is a different interesting layout. Now to introduce the often overlooked members of nearly all natural ecosystems, snails and shrimp! We will be adding Blue Dream Neocaridina shrimp and Bamboo Shrimp soon! (I will be removing the Tetras as they are likely to eat little shrimplets until the colony gets well established.)

The water is a dark color intentionally. Tannins released from the driftwood create a more natural environment for some fish.

The colors in this tank are turning out awesome!

These are African Cichlids. There are many habitats in and around the African Rift lakes that are being destroyed and are causing native fish like these to become extinct in the wild. H2O is working to find a solution to the very complex issues related to this threat.
