Routine physical exams are great for checking your pet’s heart, lungs, eyes, and ears, but what about their internal health?

Annual blood panels help us assess internal health including liver and kidney function, metabolic disease, and blood counts. Diagnostic tests provide valuable insight into changes in their health over time and allow us to identify illnesses early which can lead to faster treatment and often a better prognosis

💉 Schedule your pet’s wellness exam with us so we can run blood panels and help keep your pet healthy as can be!

With the holiday season in full effect, we know that there may be treats on your pet’s wish list. We also know that you are likely tired of the toothbrushing battle. Which is why we recommend dental treats!
Dental treats are a great way to reduce the severity of periodontal disease.

We urge our pet parents to look for the VOHC Seal of Acceptance and to avoid hard treats such as synthetic or natural bones.

The holiday season is now in full swing, which brings excitement, but for male cats, it can also bring extra stress—and with it, a higher risk of Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease (FLUTD).

If your cat seems to be urinating more frequently, straining, or showing signs of discomfort, it could be a sign of FLUTD.

Simple steps like creating a quiet, cozy space or using pheromone sprays, can help reduce stress.

Our clinic is here to help! We can provide a thorough review of your cat’s health and offer guidance on environmental changes to keep them calm. Contact us today!

✨Pet Spotlight✨
Thor is a 4 year old silver mix that was adopted from the Human Society when he was 8 weeks old. He has the sweetest personality and is always smiling! He loves to play tug of war, go to the car wash, get ice cream at Sonic, eat watermelon, and snuggle.
Here at the Animal Hospital of Orange Grove, we adore our Humane Society adoptees. We are grateful for the wonderful owners who give these fur babies a second chance. Share with us a photo of your rescued pups!

🦠Leptospirosis is an infection of Lepto bacteria. Found in the urine of infected mice, rats, racoons, skunks and possums, this bacteria gets excreted into the environment.

Dogs are most often infected by drinking from a contaminated water source. The bacteria then targets the liver and kidneys, leading to serious illness and sometimes death.

You can prevent infection with an annual lepto vaccine and booster, good for dogs over 12 weeks old.

Help us spread awareness on the importance of the lepto vaccine by sharing this post!

✨Pet Spotlight✨
Zoe (pictured left) is a 5 year old Great Pyrenees mix. She considers herself Queen of well, everything, including her mom. As with most queens, she is very judgy and can often be caught giving the side eye for no reason at all. She has the longest legs in the neighborhood and loves to show them off. She also produces enough fur daily to stuff a nice-sized pillow. She loves everybody, but is especially a momma's girl and requires many hugs throughout the day.
Figero (pictured right) is a rescued 2 year old Lab mix. He is a big ball of energy who loves to carry around stuffed toys, sticks, and mom's shoes. His favorite thing to do is annoy his sister by pulling on her extra-long tail and latching on to any appendage accessible. He tries to be brave, but is very afraid of the ride on car that the neighbors push their baby in. Apparently, big eyes and a smile on a plastic car are terrifying.
