It has now come to our attention that the pet microchip company, Save This Life, has suddenly closed. If your pet was microchipped in our facility, this will affect your pet. Your immediate action is necessary. Due to the Animal Welfare Act, USDA-APHIS does not regulate private pet ownership. Thus, there is no national database in the United States to keep your pet's microchip in the event a supplier closes.
In order to make sure that your pet's information is still findable, they must be re-registered with another company as soon as possible. We have compiled a list of a few companies that accept your pet's current microchip. Please note they may offer additional services at a fee, but memberships are not always necessary to add your pet to their database. We strongly recommend registering with at least two databases below:
https://www.freepetchipregistry.com/
https://www.24petwatch.com/
https://findpet.com/ (Scroll to "Enroll Microchip")
https://www.petlink.net/ (Small, one time registration fee: Use code VEDCO for $20 off)

Please visit AAHA's database lookup to search multiple microchip company databases if you are unsure where they are registered. Please email [email protected] with your name and pets' names if you need us to look up microchip numbers. At this time, your pet's microchip number can still be accessed by logging into your Save This Life account.

We truly apologize for any inconvenience. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns, we will be happy to help!

💖 This Valentine’s Day, show your pet some extra love while keeping them safe – and help keep other pets safe by sharing this post!

Here are a few Valentine’s pet safety tips to keep in mind:

-Keep chocolate, candy, and treats with xylitol far out of reach—they’re toxic to pets!
-Watch out for flowers like lilies, which are especially dangerous for cats.
-Be mindful of lit candles and decorations that curious paws might knock over.
-Secure ribbons, strings, and wrappers to avoid accidental ingestion.

Wishing you and your pets a safe and sweet Valentine’s Day!

✨Pet Spotlight✨
Meet Princess Anna. She was rescued at 3 months old and is now 3 years old. She is a true princess. She loves to sleep on comfy beds and fresh sheets and prefers to be held and pampered. Though she is 50 pounds, she doesn’t care, she expects you to just be strong enough to carry her. She tolerates her 3 fur siblings but prefers her humans 😅❤️

Meet The Staff 🩺
Dr. Dana Chapman always knew she would work with animals, and her sweet nature and true compassion leads her to excellence as a veterinarian. She graduated from Mississippi State in 2012, acheiving both her childhood dreams of heroine and veterinarian. She has worked in many clinics across the country, but we are grateful she landed back in Gulfport to help serve her hometown community with us back in July of 2022. Her special interests are in surgery and feline medicine.
In high school, Dr. Chapman showed and jumped horses and even gave riding lessons. Now, her hobbies include cosplaying, playing DND, and spending time with her awesome husband, two sons and their myriad of pets.
