Ben and Hammy are still waiting on their forever homes. They were born 7.4.24, are extremely social, and do well with dogs. These boys are so loving, smart, and active.

Please share this post to help us find these babies the loving homes they deserve.

From a sibling's adopter:

“Adopting Sonny and bringing him into our home has been such a joy. He is extremely mellow for a 4-month-old puppy. He gets along well with his canine brother and sister and adores his humans, especially the 4 & 5 year olds. He has slept through the night from the very beginning and potty training was a breeze. He is very intelligent and has an aptitude for retaining so many new tricks. Having experienced teething before with other puppies, we were surprised to find that he was so quickly able to discern between which items were for chewing and which were not. Sonny is a gem and we could not love him more!”

One of their other adopted siblings is described by his human as:

“Very mellow, observant, smart, snuggly and gentle. Just a big tub of muscle and chunk lol! He’s fit in with the other dogs so well and has done good with the chickens, horses, and cats. He's timid and watchful when he's around them. He loves to snuggle with the other animals, his people, and his toys! His observant, smart temperament makes him easy to train as he picks up on things quickly and wants to please. He's seriously been such a joy and a sweet addition to the family!”

It's Adoption Hours and Wish List Wednesday!

Visit the shelter tonight between 4 and 7pm at 98 Basin Park Drive to meet all of the beautiful creatures we have available for adoptions. Kittens, puppies, cats, and dogs. We have all ages and would love to help you find the right match.

For Wish List Wednesday, our most needed items are:

GVAWL is in search of one or two dog care volunteers for our Sunday and our Monday mid-day shifts. The shifts last 1-2 hours and includes walking and providing care for the dogs in the shelter.

Studley is such a love bug!! He just wants to hang out and be with his human.

Studley is a ready-made boy who is oh so eager to join his new family! He is 8-9 years old super senior who has plenty of energy and spirit in him. He walks very nicely on leash. Studley is a happy, sweet boy who loves attention from humans of all ages. Unfortunately his previous owner says he does not get along well with other dogs or cats. This guy truly deserves a new family to live out his golden years!

Wink, a 13 week old Labrador, was dumped at a park in our little town, likely due to his need for medical attention. Wink had a terribly painful, infected and damaged right eyeball. We were able to seek medical treatment immediately but we were unable to save the eye. The vet could not determine if the eye was damaged or a genetic factor. His eyeball was enucleated 9 days later.

Wink was adopted by a wonderful family who loves him dearly. We are very grateful for the help of Wags and Menace Make a Difference Program Foundation who helped financially care for this sweet puppy!

Blackbeard, a 4-month-old kitten, was found as a stray and brought to GVAWL with his two other littermates. We discovered that he had a badly infected eyeball and clearly was in pain. Because he was in such pain, our vet was able to quickly schedule him in to have his eye enucleated. This sweet boy was immediately adopted and is living his best life pain free!

Thank you Wags and Menace Make a Difference Program Foundation for helping us care for this special boy!

THE DNA RESULTS ARE IN!!

Hamilton and Benjamin’s adopted sibling had a DNA test completed and the results are below.

She's an active pooch who loves to explore the outdoors, but also has a soft side and enjoys nothing more than curling up on the couch with a good movie.

Beatrice is a true foodie who will do anything for a treat, so you'll have to resist those puppy eyes when it's time for dinner! Adoptable Cats and Kittens!

Daisy and Tilly lived on a ranch for the first 5 months of their lives so they are not well accustomed to people. Our cat care team has been working with the girls and they have adjusted well to life in the shelter. These beauties are sweet, just very shy and we believe with a patient new owner they will become friendly little girls.

It's Wednesday!!

Adoption hours tonight are from 4pm to 7pm at 98 Basin Park Drive. We have puppies, kittens, adults, and seniors. If you are ready and able to provide a forever home to a furry friend, stop on by!

1) Soft Dog Cookies- We go through these very quickly and can always use different types. Some suggestions are on our Amazon page but the only real requirement is that they are soft.
