We lost a legend last night. Duke lived a great life. I trained this dog and he was my hunting partner back before I had dogs of my own. He was the most naturally intelligent dog I have ever been around. His drive was endless as was his desire to please. We had a special bond. Every time I would go back to my dads he would great me and would be glued to my hip if I was outside wanting me to throw him a stick even in his old age when he had no business playing fetch. He has sired hundreds of puppies and his legacy lives on. I hope he’s flushing ringnecks and retrieving piles of ducks on the other side.

Litter Announcement time. My brothers dog Rose has a litter of 4 black puppies. 2 males and 2 females. Will be ready to go home middle of May. Rose is a product of our own breeding program and a sweetheart. The stud is Buddy. A great chocolate lab we have used a couple other times. One more of Myles out of Remi and Rugar. Just for the record he was the last puppy picked in this litter. I always find it a bit funny how some people get nervous or are no longer interested when they find out there is only one puppy left. They seem to think there must be something wrong with them or they aren’t as good as the others. I think it is safe to say this big boy debunked that theory.

Carly and Remi got it done today at the county fair pet show. She's been dragging this poor dog around all week practicing her leading and sitting skills. They asked if she knew any tricks and Carly had her sit. Then she told them that she likes to put the dirty diapers in the trash can. Labs are the best!!!!
