A message from Winston's owner...

Will, I just wanted to let you know Winston is doing great and had an amazing couple days of hunting. We did not lose a duck over two days and he had multiple 200+ yard crippled retrieves, caught 3-4 divers and even put his head underwater to catch a few, lots of both marks and blinds. He picked up his first two geese and really performed flawlessly. We hunted hard in the rain and weather and were set up out in the fields amongst them. He hunted yesterday off a muskrat house and on the platform in 3’ of water today. We had birds landing all around us and he stayed steady (even when one crashed 4’ away from us). He is learning to hunt the right side of the wind and use his nose to find the birds. Just thought you’d both like a report. Thank You for an amazing retriever and companion.

Can't describe the feeling this gave me. Keep making us proud Winston!!

Smoke getting it done in the wood duck hole! Smoke was with me since 8 weeks of age and he is a few months short of turning a year old!

"First hunt went great
Was steady to gun and made a good mark and finshed up with a nice blind at the end with a single cast over
Wasn’t much bird action but still proud of smoke."

Thank you Rob Burt! It makes us happy knowing our dogs go to a loving home where they will be utilized for what they've been trained to do!

We'd like to thank Cherokee Elementary for having us out for career day!!

We had the pleasure to spend time with one of the 5th grade classes talking about life, career paths, and of course dog training!

The kids were absolutely amazing, and asked some very intelligent questions! Towards the end we went outside to work and play with the dogs. It was great socialization for the puppies, along with Winston!

Cherokee Elementary... once again thank you so much for letting us come out, y'all have a great group of kids that have very bright futures ahead of them!!

Ellie went 4/4 in started just before the age of 6 months old! She went out there and showed some of the older dogs how it's done! Ellie is one of the sweetest girls we have at the kennel, but when it comes time to work she is all business!! She's got a long way to go, but we have the confidence that she will keep moving forward at a steady pace!

Thank you to Jason Foley with Straight Flush Outfitters for allowing me to raise her and build her from the ground up! As always, I appreciate all of you out there in Texas for the overwhelming amount of support!!

Rhys earned her Hunting Retriever title this past weekend at Tennessee River HRC!!

Rhys has come a long way in the past few months, she lacked confidence in almost every spectrum when I first got her. We took things super slow and made sure she understood what we were asking before making any corrections. We are super proud of Rhys here at the kennel!

Let's help congratulate Cache on achieving his Hunting Retriever Champion title!! Cache comes to work everyday with a "can do" mindset. He is sharp, stylish, and very loving... But most importantly he likes to work as a team, and that means more to a trainer than anything else!

Dunn Right Retrievers took a trip to see Ms. Howell, and her puppy Fancy.

Ms. Howell informed us how wild and crazy Fancy was. She'd get tangled up in her walker, run up and down the hallways, and bark throughout the day.

This is our second session together, and we are very pleased with Fancy's progress! We gave Ms. Howell a homework list of things to work on everyday, and it looks like the hard work is paying off. We'll see you two next week!

Winston's first day of walking fetch... The heat complicates things drastically so we aren't nitpicking the little mistakes, that will come later. We are just looking for good mechanics, and a happy dog! 🦆🐕

Wow!! The day has finally come!!!

Winston was purchased by Lauren Cannon back in February. Her idea was to buy him as a puppy, send him away for training, and then surprise her husband, Shawn, for his birthday today. And that's exactly what she did!

Winston and I drove up to Nashville today to surprise Shawn... To say he was shocked, would be an understatement! Winston put on a quick performance, then we discussed the future plans for Winston. He will come back to finish his training and then spend the rest of his life hunting with Shawn and his son!

Help us wish him a happy birthday!! Shawn, we hope Winston will be apart of many years of memories with you and your son out in the woods, and back at home with the rest of the family!

Last weekend was bitter sweet!!

Dan has made it back to Texas and will begin his new job with Straight_flush_outfitters here in a few weeks. It was an honor to build this dog into what he is today... he is a spitting image of his daddy. Thank you to Jim and Donna for trusting us with him over the past year!
