Thank you to everyone who donated!!! They are only taking totes and plywood at this point in time. Otherwise, they are at capacity for everything else! Wonderful news!

UPDATE! Dr. Will is making a trip to Greenfield with donations today. He will be leaving at 4pm. They will be making another trip down on Sunday with additional donations. Thank you for you for all of the amazing generosity.

Update: sunscreen, sunhats, batteries are in short supply! Dr. Abby and Dr. Will will be headed to Greenfield a few times over the next few days. If anyone has supplies that they'd like to donate, we'd be happy to haul it to Greenfield. People are in desperate need for totes (of any form but the big plastic totes are very helpful), batteries, diapers, wipes, baby essentials, water, and clothes. Drop any supplies off at the vet clinic. The news coverage just simply doesn't put into perspective the damage this town has endured. Any bit of donations help. If you are headed to des moines, Costco has really cheap essentials including totes. Thank you.

Missing 5/19/2024 from 904 Prairie Street in Guthrie. Escaped through a screen that came out of the window. Friendly, but very scared. Will be skittish, please don’t approach!!

Just a friendly reminder: due to the outrageously warm weather we have been experiencing, we have found multiple ticks on our patients over the last two weeks. If ticks are out, this means that fleas are out too! Be sure to consider flea/tick preventatives during these intense weather fluctuations.

This dog was found on Koala Ave in Guthrie County. Intact Male. This dog is not at our clinic but you can call us if it’s yours and we will give you the phone number of the person who is currently keeping him. Please Share!

Congratulations it's TWINS!! Dr. William Frels was able to provide client Gary Wilson with additional information by using the Repro-Scan ultrasound. Gary now knows to keep a closer eye on one of his favorite cows now! Calving with twins increases the likelihood of distocia (abnormal positioning of calf during labor) which often requires direct client/veterinary intervention to help deliver a live calf. This is just one example of the benefits of ultrasound over traditional pregnancy detection methods that wouldn't detect twins.

Along with green tagging calves we are currently ultrasound pregnancy checking many cows! The ultrasound is a valuable tool to accurately age fetuses and detect pregnancies as early as 30 days old. With it being dry and feed expensive, this helps producers find those open cows sooner and remove them from the herd. If you are interested in possibly preg checking your herd early and saving some feed, give us a call and Drs. Will, Abby, or Doug would be happy to discuss if ultrasound would fit into your operation. Pictured below are 90, 65, and 40 day pregnancies and also an open uterus from today!
