Tonight was one of those days that really tugs at your heart. Our butcher cows left, including three old girls who have been with us their whole lives (19, 18, and 17 years old.) They’ve given us so many calves over the years, and our 17 year old even had multiple sets of twins. 💕

It’s hard to explain how attached you get to them, their faces, their personalities, their place in the herd. Picking out butchers is truly one of the hardest parts of raising these amazing animals. These girls have given us so much, and we’ll always be grateful for the years they’ve spent here and the legacy they leave behind. ❤️

Twin Oaks Elk Farm 2025 Breeding Bulls

Macho - A Gunsmoke(King Ransom 240) son out of one of our old cows. He is in with our young cows this year in the pasture east side of the road.

Duke - A TOE Wichita (Styx) son out of a The Judge daughter. He is in with our old cows this year in the pasture on the west side of the road.

Knox - A Mister K (our bull G16) son out of a The Judge daughter. He is in with our Heifers this year in the pasture behind the shop.

All the bulls are now cut on our farm, even the breeders. If you drive by to look at them make sure to roll your windows down to listen at them bugle.

This weekend was a busy one!!! Got all the girls sorted, butcher cows sorted off, cut and vaccinated all the bulls, and put breeder bulls in.
