People often ask us, "How do you know if your LGD are good or not?" I've also heard that a picture is worth a thousand words, so I'll let the picture tell the story. This is one of our dogs, out in the pasture with one of her goats that is in labor. They are probably an 1/8 of a mile or more from the herd and one of the dogs is there to keep her calm.

We don't offer Guardian Dog pups very often, but we have a good set available right now. These pups will be 3/4 Anatolian Shepherd and 1/4 Akbash. They were born and raised in the pasture, with the goats. We usually wait until they're older before we send them to their new herds but Mother Nature said these needed to go sooner. These are healthy pups that are ready to bond with their new herds. We have shipped Guardian Dogs all over the Country, and I feel as confident about these as any that we've ever had. If you have been to our ranch and looked at our "front pasture does", you have probable asked "Who is that 𝓅𝓇𝑒𝓉𝓉𝓎 blue doe?" Fe has been a crowd favorite by just about anyone that has ever seen her. She has been a great producer for us and is ready to go home and make you a pasture full of pretty does. Anyone that has had the luxury to have a daughter of Big Kat will understand how tough and hardy that they are, if you add in the fact that Fe is out of one of the most prolific daughters of Blue's Son, you see that this truly is the perfect storm. Fe will come with one straw of ＳＡＮ　ＤＡＹ　ＭＯＮＥＹ. We have a few Day Money/Fe does in our program and after watching them, I can't think of a better buck for her. Pay attention here, opportunities like this don't come often.

This is a doe that would never be for sale at our place. If you like big bodied, parasite resistant goats, pay attention here!

Per PJ Murphy "This doe possesses a combination of the most succesful tested genetics in the Kiko industry ever. She is the result of a flush from B16 who shares much of her genetics with PJM Copyright's Bluejay on her dam side, while being sired by RAK Austin's Boy who is one of the most successful sire of dams in the breed over the past several years. Austins Boy does produced many Maryland test Finalists and their progeny are used in high profile breeding programs. The does produced very worm resistant progeny. Her sire, SKY 213 Blue’s Copyright is a legendary sire of performance tested Bucks and grandsire through both his sons and daughters of numerous successful performance tested bucks."

This doe will come with one straw of ＳＡＮＭＡＮＡＭＯＮＧＢＯＹＳ, who was our entry at the '18 EOSC buck test. He left the test as Reserve Champion in FEC with an average FEC of 25, while weighing 94 pounds at the end of the test. If you want to raise big, meaty goats with proven, tested, strong parasite resistance, this doe/semen package should be high on your list.

Several folks have reached out, wanting to know when we are going to sell our does. Well, since the kids are weaned and the does are drying up, it is time to start letting the girls find new pastures. Our first offering will be at the Appalachian Kiko Invitational in Gray, TN.
Early on in our Kiko career, we tried very hard to find Elite, flush type does. During our search, 90% of the answers that we received were "those kind of does aren't for sale". We obviously found a few and built a few along the way, but I have never forgot some of the conversations had with breeders that had been in the industry much longer than us.
With all of that said, our first offering will all be FLUSH QUALITY, ELITE, HERD BUILDING type females that should shine in any herd in the Country. Please stay tuned over next few days as we highlight our consignments.
This should be a lot of fun!

Lot #26 SALE HIGHLIGHT

HKF SONNY BOY

In years past, sons of HKF SONNY BOY have sired bucks that led the Oklahoma Buck Test in both ADG and FEC. The Top Herdsman award at the Oklahoma Buck Test in 2013, 2014 and 2015 were all won with kids sired by one of HKF SONNY BOY'S best sons, MRG OUTLAW, who also was the high selling buck at the 2012 Elite Buck Sale. In 2016, another son of HKF SONNY BOY, MRG THRILLER helped Dewie and Addie Short win the Top Herdsman award. Fast forward a few years and HKF SONNY BOY sired SAN DAY MONEY who made his mark at the Oklahoma Buck Test. It is safe to say that HKF SONNY BOY bucks are making their mark in the Kiko history book. With all of that being said, I truly think HKF SONNY BOY is even more valuable as a sire of dams. He produces well balanced, big bodied does that have good udders and teat structure as well as great mothering ability along with a very strong parasite resistance. HKF SONNY BOY is Alpha Casein tested High/High.

Rooster was the product of an outcross of two of the most desirable early imported NZ families - Money Maker and Goliath. Rooster was sired by ELH Hemp’s Golden Boy (A half brother to ELH Blue’s Son and out of a Money Maker x Generator doe) and out of a Heavily line bred Goliath doe. He was a large bodied (top weight of 280 pounds) Kiko with easy fleshing and a slick coat. His bucks grow well and his daughters produce exceptional kids. Lot #50 Sale Highlight

Next up are a pair of Grade 1 embryos that are sired by HKF SONNY BOY and out of GAL AERIAL. This flush produced several very nice goats, including a great buck that went to PJ Murphy in New Jersey. Here is a description from PJ of the buck that he bought out of this flush.
From PJ Murphy-
SAN Sonnys Tasman Tricks - A son of HKF Sonny Boy (and thus half brother to MRG Outlaw) and out of GAL Aeriel. GAL Aeriel combines the genetics of Blue's Son and Tasman Aristocrat.
Tricks' pedigree is made up of the Blue's Son, Tasman Aristocrat and Goatex Goliath. We selected “Tricks” based on a number of factors which include his growth performance, his structure, his sire and dam and my experience with the genetics in his pedigree. When we visited “Good As Gold Kikos” in Oklahoma in 2017, we inspected the doe herd. There I got to see GAL Aerial amongst some other very good does. I was very impressed with her femininity, structure (Conformation and udder/teat quality), stature and prolificacy. “Tricks” sire, HKF Sonny Boy is the well known sire of MRG Outlaw. That obviously makes “Tricks” a half brother to Outlaw. The performance of Sonny’s sire and his other descendants in central performance tests is well known. Excellent worm resistance is a trait frequently associated with the family.

Next up is WMB MINGO, the world traveling son of PANGO HUA that we were fortunate enough to have for the last few years of his career. Mingo was one of the toughest goats that ever lived on our ranch. He is the sire of a bunch of great Kiko does that are doing a phenomenal job on many farms across the Country. He also is known for siring bucks that that have improved many herds across the Country. Mr. Barnes knew what he was doing when he made this cross and it has improved herds everywhere. If you need to add large amounts of parasite resistance and mothering ability to your herd, take a hard look here!

First time momma, daughter of WMB MINGO, showing what mothering ability is all about. Notice that she was getting the first kid up to eat before the second was even born.

People often ask what makes Kikos better than the other breeds. My answer is always... 1) Mothering Ability 2) Parasite resistance 3) Better ADG on kids (get to market faster) This video is of a first time momma. Notice that she hasn't even had the second baby, and is already getting baby number one to eat. This is what it's all about!

BWP JR'S 354 BOY is ready for the ladies! We have had a lot of people ask if our bucks are Purebred or New Zealand, well we have both. JR is the only Purebred buck on the ranch, but has just as important of a job as the others. We use JR on a big group of commercial does in our breed up program. He does a great job of siring deep bodied, heavy muscled kids that are very parasite resistant and sound on their feet and legs. The bucklings grow out fast and the doelings make great mothers. This is just one example of how a good KIKO buck, (Purebred or New Zealand) can add value to your herd.

Some of our 2017 does that we hold back, coming in for the evening. There are daughters of HKF SONNY BOY, SIG RUFFUS, WMB MINGO, ELH BLUE'S SON and WSU GOLIATH'S IMPRINT in this group.

I'm not going to say that we have too many bucks, but here is a glimpse of some of the boys in our arsenal of bucks. There are bucks of all ages in this group.

Here is a quick video of GAL SABRINA, the dam to lot #30 in the MKGA SALE this weekend. This doe is DEEP and WIDE and passes it on to her kids.

This is GAL AERIAL, the dam of lot #37 in the MKGA SALE this weekend. It is no surprise that her WMB MINGO daughter is a great looking doeling.

Ol' Nellie decided to lay down and chew it over. It's hard to catch peace on video, but this is about as peaceful as it gets. Thanks again to JohnandLori Hancock and Jerry and Patricia Hancock for giving us the opportunity to buy this great doe!
