It happened again. I guess someone thought that we (and our neighbors) have dogs and live out of town, so we must need more animals. They dumped their dogs out here right before an ice storm. I contacted Helping Community Paws and Claws, and they, with fosters, have taken care of this mom and babies. They even fixed the cherry eye on the one pup. If you are interested, please give them a call.

For some reason people think it is a good idea to dump dogs in rural areas. This pretty little baby was picked up by my neighbors. They have nursed her back to health, and she is has been dewormed. So Sweet!! No puppy nips, just likes lovings. If you would like her, let me know. She needs a good home; where the people WILL NOT DUMP HER AGAIN!!! OKC Area drop off or Pick up here. No flights this time.

Update on Jake. This guy is up for discussion again. We keep going back and forth on keeping him. If the right person pops up, we will know. On one hand we love having him around, and on the other is there a better home for him somewhere else… He loves being the center of attention and constantly going/ doing. But, when my husband is gone I personally do not have the time to take him with me everywhere, like he wants.

He is great in the car, loads up easily and wants to be your right hand man driving anywhere. He has gone to work with my husband (office job), meets clients, etc… always good and mannerly. At home he is great, happy inside the house or outside. When we leave we either put him in a crate in the house or the big kennels outside. He absolutely loves water. EXTREMELY food driven, man does he love food. Definitely not a dog allowed to freely graze. He would be great for a single person as a companion dog, a home with other dogs that can play at his same level, or a family with older kids. He (like most working breed dogs) does not like to be constantly hugged around the neck. He will take a few hugs (from people he knows), but then gives low growls when finished. High prey drive, specifically squirrels. He is fine with the cats in OUR house, but they are calm. If something small runs, he will chase. He knows all of his basics, leash, crate, neutered, on heart worm prevention, Bday is May 24,2021, AKC registration papers, etc. New owner will have to be educated on this breed and be an alpha personality.

He was returned because his original owners (husband, wife, 2 young kids, & pug brother) were moving, and he could not make the trip. He also saw himself as an equal to the wife, and would not listen to her.

We have 3 dogs that are needing new homes. 2 of which, have quite a bit of training compared to your everyday available Malinois. Also, when deciding on a Malinois you need to know that they play hard/rough compared to other dogs. They run at full speed, all have different drive levels, and strengths. They need constant physical and mental stimulation, or they get bored. (A bored Malinois will find something to do… and you may not like what that something is) They are also very pack oriented, emotionally connected to their owners, and will step over the line if not kept in check.

#1 Harley- Great dog, he has been trained by a professional trainer, plays hard, he has started jumping the fence and trying to play with the neighbor’s small dogs. His owners love him, but want a better situation for him and everyone. (After I see if you are a good fit, I will pass you over to the owners)

#2 Jake- Is a good dog but a bit of a boss, nothing that cannot be fixed. He knows basic commands and does well listening. Enjoys to be loved on, until he is over it. He would do better with a single alpha male owner. He has grown up with kids but was allowed to dominate. He does submit, but always challenges first to see how you react. (I will personally be doing the interview and placing of Jake)

#3 Asteria- Great dog, there is a longer post about her further down on the page. She is now being trained in tracking. Her original plans involved bite work, but she has decided that is not for her. (After I see if you are a possible fit for Asteria, I will pass you over to her owner for the final say)

I am having quite a few people contact me about puppies. We do not have any available at this time. Sorry, we do not constantly breed. It will PROBABLY be closer to February. We will see how the next few months go. The only dog we have available is Perseus (2 yrs Sept. 22), and I am being VERY picky for him. I will also have him neutered before he leaves.

Long Post: There is a possibility that this guy may be available. He is my PET. He is sweet and loving. He takes care of our house, is overly social, and at times likes to instigate wrestle matches with my daughter’s collie. He loves going on jogs, and he is an attention hog. He also likes to give hugs when he has not seen you in a long time (to him it feels like a lifetime until I get up in the morning or home from work, if he doesn’t go with me) He has a deer friend that he will jump in the pasture and play with, or she will jump in the yard. (The other deer do not appreciate his attention lol) I just want to give him all the love and attention he wants and needs. I have not been able to give him all the attention I want to or he is used to lately do to feeling ill. He is not naturally a biter and does not at all respond well to negative or aggressive reinforcement. He has grown up in a loving home and would be super confused when not spoken to in a positive way. He can easily jump/ climb a 6ft fence and is a problem solver. When not engaged with he will get bored. Like any Malinois he needs a pack, order, and mental/ physical stimulation. If I do not find someone that is 100% a perfect fit for him, he will stay with me. He has been with us for 2 years this September. It also needs to be said upfront that dogs have feelings too. He may not understand that I am trying to do my best by him. He will be confused and sad when first leaving me. There will have to be an adjustment time allowed for him. Do not expect a perfect outgoing dog as soon as you leave my house. I have gone out of town and my neighbors watch him. He knows them very well, but still wined for a few days wanting me home.

Meet Styx. She was born Dec. 3, 2021. She is pretty relaxed for a Malinois , definitely has a mind of her own, and awesome smell. Not a natural biter which makes my life easy right now.
