Spay Day U.S.A 2025 Update & Thank You!

Because of the generosity and hardworking staff at our local vets, UPAWS is excited to once again celebrate a great Spay Day USA! Spay Day USA 2025 is officially closed! All open appointments are FULL!

This wonderful program has been a great success in providing this important surgery to those that need it, reducing intake to local shelters, and keeping your pets healthy.

Scooter is a darling 🐾 2-year-old male Long Hair Chihuahua and Shih Tzu mix searching for a forever home that respects his boundaries. This little guy has so much love to offer 💖 once he feels safe!

Due to being picked up too often for his liking in the past, Scooter communicates discomfort through body language and needs a patient adopter who can recognize his signals. He thrives in a calm environment and is best suited for homes without small children. If you have older kids, they must understand and follow Scooter's rules.

Paying attention to his body language is crucial. Signs like stress yawns, lip licking, and stiffness indicate discomfort. Scooter enjoys "pet-pet-pause" moments, allowing him to feel in control and build trust, leading to some happy snuggles!

Once he trusts you, Scooter will be a delightful companion with a great sense of humor 😄. He loves to run fast and chase a squeaky ball (he hasn't caught on to bringing it back yet). 😆

Hello! I'm Suits, and I'm searching for my ideal forever home.
I may come off as timid, but underneath, I'm genuinely sweet and gentle. It might take some time and understanding to help me open up, but I assure you, it'll be rewarding once I trust you. I enjoy gentle affection, but sudden movements or unfamiliar situations can unsettle me. I'd thrive best in a home with older, considerate children—just like those I lived with before!

I am 1 years old, a boy, and I used to share my home with another dog—my brother! We generally got along well, though we had the occasional sibling squabble. He tended to take my food, which sometimes made me a little anxious at mealtime. I haven't had experience with cats, so I'm unsure how I'd react to them.

Currently, I'm not very interested in making new dog friends and sometimes walk away with my tail tucked, but I might do well with a calm, confident dog who can help me feel more secure. I'm still on my journey to trust and build my confidence, but with the right family, I know I can truly flourish.
