Jake with the Gundog double for the morning 🤙🏼
Timber is ready to go to the ground, this is our third session that I would consider “perfect” each repetition is the same whether or not pressure is involved.
Jake moving through T pattern, he’s about ready for side piles 🤙🏼🤙🏼

Working on bigger land blinds with Piper
“Bear” the 7 month old pup working on his basic obedience. We’re getting close to being ready for collar conditioning; he’s been a quick study so far !
Let’s talk “Force Fetch”
I really almost dislike the term “force fetch”. My good friend and GSP genius Kaj Larson with Hunt'em Up Kennels calls it “Trained retrieve” and I honestly feel that’s such a much better description. When done properly the amount of force used should always be the minimal amount needed to convey to the dog what’s wanted.
I will also say for a short while I didn’t think this was a solid way to train a dog. After time and exposure to other trainers (much better than I, I might add) ive come to the realization that with a properly laid foundation in the force program we learn a massive amount about the dog in front of us. It creates circumstances of difficulty in which both dog and trainer must learn from one another on how to make progress through the task put in front of us. This starts with formal obedience and carries all the way to swim by.
The dog in the video has been a slow starter but she’s coming around now and making awesome progress ! Time and patience goes a long way always !
