Forge North was formed in 2022 under the cosmic elements. Charley Wagner stands at the helm of the project, fletching his personal poetry to a robust quiver of handcrafted songs aimed at the heart. Other band members are Tristan Schultz on bass, Matt Gutzmann on pedal steel and electric guitar, Garrett Raddatz on keyboard, and Grant Raddatz on percussion.

😇 Lana 😇
This sweetie is guaranteed to make you melt! Lana is a 2-year-old, 69.4-pound Hound and Collie mix who previously lived in a home where she was well loved by children, other dogs, and even a hamster! She loves all creatures including cats. Lana listens well to commands like sit and come, and walks very politely on a leash. Not to mention, this good girl is fully potty trained! Lana is a special pup with so much love to give. Her favorite activity is sitting on your feet or in your lap and asking for lots of scratches and kisses.

Lana is spayed, microchipped, and available for foster to adopt at The Babinski Foundation until she's scheduled to have her vaccines updated. You can visit her at the shelter Tuesdays through Sundays from 8:30 to 5:00 PM!

67° and raining / misty/ spitting. But it's still a great day to walk the dog park. Thanks for the majority of visitors picking up after their fur babies. It is greatly appreciated.
Thank you to some of our volunteers (and you know who you are) that replenished p**p bags and dumped the receptacles. Being on P**p Patrol is very serious business, but it's nice when visitors take that business as serious as their pet's business. If you know what we mean! LOL

PET OF THE WEEK🐾

This good-looking pup is Mishka! Mishka was surrendered to the shelter about 2 months ago due to killing the chickens on the property. Mishka is just over a year old and still has plenty of puppy energy! He lived with a cat and young child in his previous home and did well with them. He loves to play and run with other dogs and would do great in a home with another dog. Mishka is house trained and walks nicely on leash. His previous owner said he makes a great running partner! Mishka tolerated all touch and handling well on his evaluation. He is an excitable dog and wants to please his humans. If you're interested in adding Mishka to your family please give us a call!🐾

Just so you know, there's a significance to the steam that comes off the lake if you've read the book "Waiting for White Horses" by Nathan Jorgenson. I must admit, I don't know of any other novel I've ever read that made me speechless and brought me to tears. And you want to hear the best news? HE'LL BE AT THE NORTHWOODS ART AND BOOK FESTIVAL ON SATURDAY, August 10th, from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. inside the UCC signing books! Be still my heart!

So many wild black-eyed Susans surrounding the dog park. The repairs to the mega cavern, dug under the benches, seems to be holding. Thank you to all the fur baby owners for respecting our park. It is such a wonderful amenity to have in our community.

It's that time of year when many of us, on the Hackensack Dog Park Team, go south for the cold months. Especially our volunteer stewards of picking up after owners that left their fur babies business in the dog park. It happens occasionally, but it happens. Luckily we have those volunteers that regularly canvas the area. However, going forward, we are again imploring everybody to please pick up after your pet, even if it's in the snow. Keep an eye on your baby and make a concerted effort to pick up after they do their business. We really appreciate keeping our acreage clean! See you in the Spring.!

Lenny has a new friend. His name is Hicks. He's not neutered, yet, and is only 7 months old. We can't even imagine how big he's going to get! We also hope that Lenny reconnects with Luna in the near future. She was so sweet and rough at the same time! The dog park was just recently mowed. Totally poop free!

The Hackensack Dog Park is filled with little butterflies. White but slightly yellow in color. Absolutely beautiful!

Hackensack Dog Park

We need your help! Our little town of Hackensack MN plans to build a fenced-in dog park. The city has enthusiastically invited us, a committee of the Game Changers of Hackensack, to build the park on .8 acres in beautiful Bonna Paulson Park two blocks east of the downtown area just past Union Church. There are already wonderful trails in the park for walking your dog on leash, however we know dogs need and love to run and play. We want to provide that for our local and visiting dogs as we are a vacation destination in northern Minnesota. We will have the first fenced-in dog park in all of Cass County and will welcome dogs and their owners from surrounding communities. Please join us in making a tax deductible donation to the Initiative Foundation to help us build the Hackensack Dog Park.
