Friends and family of BLAH - please help us give Dr.Welch a warm BLAH welcome!!!! She will officially be a part of our family starting on 3/10/2025!!! Below is her bio, and she has stated she would be more than happy to do a Q&A video for our clients! So…. If you have questions, ask away!!!

Dr. Stephanie Welch-Pempkowski, also known as Dr. Welch, is a compassionate and dedicated veterinarian that will be joining the Budd Lake Animal Hospital team and family. With a strong interest in dermatology, preventative care, wellness, internal medicine, nutrition, and ultrasound among other areas, Dr. Welch has made significant contributions to the well-being of animals and the local community. As a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), she stays up-to-date with the latest advancements in veterinary medicine, ensuring the highest quality of care for her patients.
For Dr. Welch, the most satisfying aspect of being a veterinarian is the opportunity to help animals in need while witnessing the incredible bond between pet owners and their furry companions. She believes in providing comprehensive care that not only addresses physical health but also enhances the connection between pets and their owners.
Dr. Welch’s educational journey began at Arcadia University, where she earned her undergraduate degree in Biology with a minor in Conservation (Wildlife) in 2008. She then pursued her veterinary education at St. Georges University and Auburn University, graduating in 2016. She spent the last 8 years practicing as the medical director at Long Valley Animal Hospital and as associate veterinarian at Warren Animal Hospital.
Dr. Welch grew up in Lebanon Township, NJ, and her motivation to become a veterinarian can be traced back to her involvement in raising seeing-eye puppies for 4-H. Before embarking on her veterinary career, she gained valuable experience by volunteering at zoos and nature centers and working at animal hospitals locally.
Outside of work, Dr. Welch spends most of her free time with her family and loved ones, especially her husband, Matthew, and their two young sons. Their furry family member includes Zoey, a lovable Great Pyrenees. Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Welch finds joy in spending time outdoors, traveling, cooking, and chasing after her boys.
With her expertise, compassion, and commitment to exceptional veterinary care, Dr. Stephanie Welch-Pempkowski (Dr. Welch) continues to make a positive impact on the lives of animals and their owners, ensuring their well-being and fostering the Human-Animal bond.

Budd Lake Animal Hospital is SO excited to share the exciting news that we are welcoming Dr.Welch to our practice in March, which means we will be OPEN on Monday’s from 8:00am-6:00pm starting March 10, 2025!

When work life and home life come together 🫶🏽 Our staff hung up their uniforms, and got dressed up to celebrate another amazing year together! Without the support of the community, our clients & patients, , our families (because we all know how important it is to come home and have those people to lean on,) and of course supporting each other through the good & the bad…. BLAH wouldn’t be where we are today! 🐾

We hope you and your loved ones have a safe and happy holiday season! ALSO!!!!! As a reminder, we will be hosting pictures with Santa 🎅 and Mrs Claus 🤶 TOMORROW 12/19 from 12p-4p! This is a free event that is open to the public! We hope to see you all there!!

Budd Lake Animal Hospital is excited to announce that we will be hosting pictures with Mr & Mrs Claus again this year!!! The event will take place on Thursday, 12/19 from 12pm-4pm!! This event is FREE & Open to the public!! There will also be goodie bags for humans and their furry friends (while supplies last,) and the opportunity to win, a FREE nail trim & teeth brushing (pet permitting.) ~Proof of up to date Rabies vaccination required to schedule the appointment ~
