I know of a border collie needing rehoming at no fault of her own. Great with people and other dogs. Not good with cats. Crate trained, 85% house trained, and has basic obedience. She is six and would be great for someone wanting a low-drive border collie. Would be great for town or farm life. A small rehoming fee would be applied. She needs to be spayed and updated on vaccines. She has been health tested and is as healthy as they come. Contact us for more information.

A great way to address this is by using the Gate Game, which helps teach your dog patience and impulse control at crate doors and entryways.

Start by having your dog wait calmly before exiting a crate or crossing a threshold. If they rush or bark, simply close the door and reset. This teaches them that calm behavior leads to freedom, while rushing or barking doesn’t get them what they want. Repetition and consistency are key—if you approach it with a mindset of ‘I’ve got all day,’ eventually it will only take a few seconds for your dog to learn the behavior.
