There is a part of our job that makes a huge difference in people’s lives and that is seeing their pets off for their last journey. While families have to stay and say goodbye at the end station, we as professionals try our very best to make that transition as smooth as we possibly can for both pet and pet parents. We understand how hard it was to put that pet into the carrier for the very last time, or how hard it was to put that leash on for one last time of “going bye byes”. We also know how hard it is going to be to see that last breath, and to feel that warm body finally relaxing for the very last time. In that most vulnerable time when pet parents look us into our eyes and ask if they are doing the right thing, we give that sincere affirmation that is so desperately needed. The decision we as pet parents make, and the time leading up to that decision is for many a hard battle of “Who am I to make that choice?” and “What makes me have that right to decide over life and death?” We as humans are so incredibly blessed to have been allowed to experience unconditional love and loyalty from our pets, and being part of that last journey is the greatest gift we can give them in return- to go in peace. ❤️
