Meet Brego! One of our newest program horses! Brego is a 15-year-old Shire. Brego loves people and is a bit like a toddler at times! The Shire Horse is a British breed of draught horse. These horses are massive with large hooves and feathering on their legs. But in spite of their imposing size, shire horses are typically calm, docile, and eager to please. The Shire has a great capacity for weight-pulling; it was used for farm work, to tow barges and as a cart-horse for road transport. The Shire Horse is considered a rare and endangered breed.

Cedar Ridge Ministries has partnered with Star for 24 years to bring equestrian programs to the boys they support. Today was our annual horse show for the young riders from Cedar Ridge, and they did fantastic! Congratulations to you all, and thank you Cedar Ridge for your amazing support!

Star Therapeutic Equestrian Center was recently presented with a $500 donation from the Williamsport Lions Club. Star was one of 5 local non-profits in attendance. The Williamsport Lions Club is part of Lions Club International, the world's largest service organization, and we are grateful for their support!

We had to say good bye to one of the best horses we’ve ever known. Bob was peacefully laid to rest yesterday afternoon. He was the bestest boy ever. He served Star Equestrian Center for over ten years. He had a heart of gold and took care of so many riders through the years. He will be greatly missed. Run fast and free friend. You take so much love with you.
