I will be competing in the all adult dummy Roping on October 25 in Thurmont Maryland. It’s going to be a lot of fun and all the proceeds will go to helping people affected by the hurricanes. I hope to see a lot of you out there supporting this cause.

Wow, I have been home for a week and I am finally finding the time to reflect on the 2024 Horse World Expo. It was so great seeing so many of you there.

We had such a great show. I’m thankful for the support that my team gave me. I appreciate Holly, Marj, Butch and my wonderful girlfriend Dondi for all that you do for me. They allowed me to focus on my horses and demos.

I’m very proud of the horses I brought along with me - Stak, Dare and EZ - they were rockstars. I’m very thankful to Cynthia Fieldman for allowing me to bring Dare along with me. He is such a beautiful Gypsy Vanner - who’s inside is just a beautiful as his outside. I’m so proud of how confident and graceful he was in each demo. He has become quite a fun roping horse. I’m also, grateful to Plantation Valley Stable (Erin Bonneville) for allowing me to bring their wonderful little Warmblood Gelding (EZ) for my talented friend Guy McLean to start under saddle in his demos. Guy did such an amazing job starting this c**t. I look forward to continuing his development with such a solid start. I learn more every time I get to watch him work with another horse.

It was also good to catch up with so many of my counterparts in this industry, and to see so many vendors that produce the great products we use at Jeff Michael Horsemanship at Split Creek Equine Solutions. A special thanks to Newt’s Hat Company and Diller Ag Hay Feeders.

I want thank Denise and her team for putting on the PA Horse World Expo. They do a great job and I’m so thankful for such a wonderful opportunity and forum to share my Horsemanship.

I also want to thank everyone who booked horses for training and clinics during the show. I look forward to working with everyone throughout this year.

Until next year, I hope you all are out riding and having as much fun on horseback as I am so blessed to do each day.

Come out and join me for my Building Confidence Clinic at 3 Clovers Ranch - Troupe Run Stables on Sat 4/15.

I had a lot of fun this weekend attending a mounted shooting clinic put on by Nola Haupert-Keill at Sunset Valley Farm. I think I did pretty well for my first time, considering I didn’t miss a ballon as long as my gun was loaded. LOL. Nola and her staff did a great job, as did Jess and Sam at hosting the clinic. I really enjoyed learning the sport of Mounted Shooting. I’m already encouraging some of my clients to go to another clinic with me. My mare, Jetta, did wonderful as always. This horse has never been shot off of, and she never flinched once. She never fails to amaze me how she puts her heart into everything I ask of her. She might see a couple of shoots next year as well as the team ropings. Thank you Richard Callan for the incredible photo and Jess Jessica M Millard for the video.

Well, Freedom has been adopted by a wonderful person that is a great fit for him. I’m thankful to Omega Horse Rescue for being patient and finding the right person to become Freedom’s new partner. This is why I enjoy working with Omega Horse Rescue. They take the time to find good fitting homes for their rescued horses. They forgot to play my selected music during our second routine during the Rescued To Stardom Competition. So, I went back and edited the video to play my selected music over the video footage. Some of the video footage is shot by my drone that was used in the competition. I’m really proud of this little project and I hope you guys enjoy this video. Thank you for all the support that so many people have given to Freedom and myself throughout our journey together. I’m truly blessed to have shared my time with Freedom and to see such a great fit for his future. Thank you, Jeff Michael

Here is Freedom’s second video in our Rescue To Stardom Series. This series will document Freedom’s transformation from a pushy untrained horse coming out of the kill pen to a soft, confident and kind riding horse. This series will go from his first day in the round pen all the way to the competition in Harrisburg in March.
