The FOS family welcomed super sized Apollo into the rescue yesterday!! As you can see by the video, he was full of playful excitement before jumping into the transport van! Don’t let his size fool you - he is just a puppy at 10 months of age!
Under all that floof and curls is a Standard Poodle! Apollo is so much fun and will make an amazing family pet! Stay tuned - this big hunk of love is getting groomed tomorrow by our friends at Passionate Pets LLC!

Countdown to #WCG2019, Day 6!
"The day God created the coonhound, he just sat down and smiled."
Washington County Gives is less than a week away, Tuesday, May 7th AND we would like to interrupt our countdown for a public service announcement about.... Coonhounds!
Meet our day 6 "breed"... the one that has captured the heart of our founder, Laurie Brewer.
Here are some interesting Coonhound facts:
* Coonhounds are known for the melodious quality of their voices (if you have one, you may disagree about it being melodious!)
* Coonhounds are scent hounds and a working breed, best noted for their ability to hunt and track.
* There are seven breeds of Coonhounds: the Black and Tan Coonhound, the Redbone Coonhound, the English Coonhound, the Bluetick Coonhound, the Treeing Walker Coonhound, the Plott Hound, and the American Leopard Hound.
* They are normally good natured with people and other dogs.
* They are medium to large sized dogs with an athletic build and a short easy to care for coat.
This all sounds great right? Well they aren't necessarily without their challenges! Watch this video to learn more first hand from Laurie, a proud two-time Coonhound advocate!
