🚨🚨 HSWC IS CRITICALLY FULL! 🚨🚨

We need your help, and we need it as soon as possible! The shelter currently has ZERO empty dog kennels available, and animals in need continue to arrive daily. We are urgently in need of families who can adopt or foster.

Able to adopt? Don't wait! Now is the time! Adoption fees on all animals have been reduced to $20.25 through the end of the year. All come spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Visit hswcmd.org/adoption-gallery to see all of our available animals.

Can't provide a forever home? How about just 2 weeks? Sign up to foster! We are especially in need of fosters who are able to take large dogs. If you can give an animal a home for the holidays (at least through 12/31), visit hswcmd.org/foster-app and follow the steps to get started. Fostered with us before? Be sure to update your On Deck form to let us know what you're able to foster and when. HSWC will provide all you'll need to care for an animal in foster (food, supplies, etc). By fostering an animal in your home, you free up kennel space here at the shelter AND provide insight that will better help the animal find their forever home.

Our Yearly Humane Society Drop Off Box is back! 🎅 Bring all donations into the shop or drop off on the porch!

Help Pets in Need! 🐾 We are seeking donations to provide care and shelter for homeless and abandoned pets. They urgently need blankets, bedding, towels, pet beds, pet bowls, cleaning supplies, toys, unopened dog food, unopened cat food, cat litter and more to ensure these animals are comfortable and cared for. Your generous contributions will help us provide for pets in need. No donation too small! Every little bit helps, and together, we can make a big difference in their lives. Every year we have an extremely long holiday cancellation list, so with that being said, EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY — we will be requiring a 48 hour cancellation notice. 𝗜𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗹 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻 a 48 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗱, 𝘄𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗮 $𝟮𝟱 non refundable 𝗳𝗲𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴! We cannot guarantee a reschedule during the holiday season. We hate to implement this, however, this results in a loss of income & it’s extremely hard to fit in another customer in need, with less than a 48 hour notice at the busy holiday time!
