Just me and a flaming hot Cheeto! Lol!
Cheeto the yearling colt is a wild one. He refuses to except our company with ease, even during feeding time. After being here almost a full month and ponied only once in his first wk of being here. Unfortunately I just haven't had the time to keep up with him.
So today was the day to throw my handy dandy one swing low Houlihan and snagged him right away. Cheeto is a very sensitive colt that likes to strike and kick when put under pressure. Very flighty and spazzy. My goal wasn't necessarily to touch him today, but to get him used to being handled without fource in hopes to build his trust willingly. To teach him when pressure is applied when pulling on him, that pressure will release. To also teach him to walk to the thing that scares him to build his confidence. I was that thing. So every step he took away from me, I would let him, but then once he came to a stop I would slowly pull him back to me one step at a time.
I had done only that maneuver for his first lesson, he is not mentally stable to handle too much at once. This colt has a double swirl on the top of his forehead. He is destined to be challenging and I except that. At the end of our session he reached out and touched my hand on his own. I have to let him think it's his idea in order for him to feel more trusting and brave. Lol! I felt the need to use reverse psychology on him and it worked.
Good job Cheeto Puff!
Sometimes goofing off is needed! Great Job Kenzie! 😃

Meet Cheeto! This lil yearling just arrived fresh out of the pasture. Now it's time to get tamed & halter broke. Sorry Cheeto your wild days are over. 🥰
UPDATE! KENZIE had such a great transformation in her 3 months of training here at Twisted T Corral LLC , that the owners had decided to keeper! Wow! What a great compliment! 🎉 No one ever wants to sell their dream horse, so keep in mind that maybe they just need to be invested in and get them some correct handling and training to bring that dream horse around. Thank you for your loyalty! We appreciate you.
Meet Kenzie;
Kenzie is a beautiful black 2009 grade breeding stock paint mare that stands around 15.1 hands tall.
This mare has been there done that. She had spent her younger years as a playday/show horse, shown in all around by a young novice rider. That rider also carried a flag on Kenzie for grand entries. Kenzie would be a great step up horse for a teenager and loves ranch work & riding. She loves tracking cattle, pasture roping & dragging just about anything & can cover long distance without tiring down, with her amazing extended trot. Kenzie neck reins, picks up both leads & has a nice stop and also can ride bridleless. She also does great on trail rides & loves to play in the water. Kenzie's not the hokey pokey type of horse. She is a forward moving type that is all work and likes a job. She knows leg cues and can be fancy if need to be.
Kenzie would make some nice mule babies or even draft cross with her color and confirmation. Her sire was a black & white paint, she is western pleasure and cowhorse bred.
Located in Halfway Mo. Owner is interested in trading for a more laid back more whoa than go type of horse.
