Lets welcome WWR Videl Valentine (AKA Nova) a seven year old Stallion.
While Mesa and I were working horses this morning I had her lunge Nova. He is such a good boy. I told Mesa to swing on. Lol! So here is Novas 2nd ride. He did okay. He definitely has a long ways to go, but for Mesa to be able to get on him to fiddle arnd shows me that he has a pretty good mind.
Tater was unsure about having a new rider, but her concerns were alleviated once she realized that Sydney would not rough her up. Kudos to Tater for adapting quickly!
It's always a good idea to allow your trainers to have more than one rider.
As one who knows what it's like to be an apprentice, I just had to share my appreciation to my new apprentice.
Being an apprentice is not easy in the horse training industry. You get good coaches, coaches who try but don't quite have what your looking for and you get coaches you wish you never met. Lol! You bust your butt off for the experience and the education. And hope you learn enough to take it somewhere and use what you learn.
I luckily already knew Sydney and knew her background. So when I heard she wanted to work with me. I was super excited. I am proud of her for branching out and coming here to Twisted T Corral to further her education.
Today she rode two of our trainers Tater and Bowen. The two horses are at completely different phases in their training and Sydney handle my coaching very well.
Thank you Sydney!
Pearl is coming along nicely. Today was the second day of trotting around the big arena. For one that likes to occasionally tuck and run from scaring herself. I am super proud on how well she kept it together. Ground work sure can bring a horse a long way in their training.
Pearl is very smooth but needs to build up strength in her back end and needs adjusted. Once she figures out her long legs and foot placement, she will be a beautiful mover. Good job Pearl! I am so proud of you.
What a beautiful morning to train on some horses! Mesa is on top of Watch Fergie Drift by Duallys Drifter by Dual Pep out of our Pitzer mare Amber Diamond Watch!
POAC National Congress in Tulsa Oklahoma is marked off the list for this handsome kid Clayhill Zip N To Win (AKA Elvis). His 3rd show as a yearling!

I am once again super proud of Elvis! Congratulations kiddo! You have made it so far in such a short amount of time. Thank you for putting up with me.
Thank you everyone from the bottom of my heart for all of your support β€οΈ
It was a toasty one today, but work must go on right?
Anyways Tater did great today. Her and Mesa work on pulling a tire for the first time. Didn't phase Tater at all.
Good job Tater Tot! π
Tater had her 3rd ride today! She bumped up to a trot for the first time and did amazing! Once she figured it out we trotted all over the arena. What a good girl Tater!
Thank Mesa Trupp for the video.
Second ride on Tater the 6 year old mare went well! Today Mesa rode Tater in the big arena. Tater could have cared less. She is so freaking easy going.
Good job Tater Tot! We are so proud of you.
Thank you Mesa Trupp for your help today!
Hey, remember Bowen the 3 year gelding? Bowen was here about 3 or 4 months ago for 90 days of training. He left knowing how to neck reining, pick up both leads, moved off of leg cues and much more. Then he went back home for a little break and grow time.
Bowen is back for another 60 days of training. Here are some wonderful videos from today. Which was the first ride since he has been back. These videos were taken during warm up just to see what he remembered. Lets just say the foundation stuck and he did great. I was so proud of him. We even took a ride down the road before it got too hot.
Good boy Bowen! I am so happy to have you back. He such a fun horse to ride.
Okay FYI Facebook for some reason will only allow me to post one video. π€¦ββοΈ So check the comments. Lol!
First ride with a saddle on Tater the 6 year old unbroke mare went well! Ground work always pays off. First ride and was able to turn both ways, stop and back and remained calm the whole time even when pressure was applied.
Good job Tater Tot! We are so proud of you.
Thank you Mesa Trupp for your help today!
After seeing how touchy feely Tater (the 6 year old mare) was yesterday with Mesa stepping up on her sides in a saddle for the first time. I thought today we should take a different approach. And Tater loved it and finally connected with lots of approval when walking her and Mesa around the arena. It's moments like this when I really love my job.
Thank you Mesa Trupp for putting the first ride on Tater today. You rock! Good job Tater Tot!

Tater graduated from the round pen today. 2nd day with the drive reins and 1st time in the arena. What a good girl!
We love all the horse, even the silly ones.
Just a recap of we are all about around here. Always training, hauling and showing, making the best out what we do and improving every day. π
Day 3 with 6 year old Victorias Dirty Secret (AKA Tater Tot)
First saddling went very well. A bit spicy with her right side and a bit flanky, but that's okay. We worked through it and asked again. Tater had no buck and she moved out nicely. Good job Tater Tot for having an easy day. π
1st session in the round pen with Tater Tot.
Tater did great. She had learn the most important word of the day "whoa".
Along with body language, voice commands are helpful for communication. The voice commands when mastered on the ground can easily be link from longeing to riding.
To be effective, use a particular voice and word for command and be consistent each time when it is used.
I also introduced a few other exercises on day one, but naturally was not looking for protection nor did I want to stress her out. At this point I'm only testing her, to see what she is all about and how her mind works.

Rip is more than just about big stops, he is also a really smooth lead changer. For a horse that has only 102 rides, I can't help but be so proud of him. He is no where finished by all means, but he sure makes my job easy. As a stallion he of course has his days, but still very mild compared to others. Love him β€οΈ
