Dr. Katie Sandel was raised in Apple Valley, MN. She moved out of Minnesota with her Marine husband for several years, and finally came home to Minnesota after being away for 9 years. While she was away, she received her undergraduate degree from Fort Valley State University in Veterinary Technology. Dr. Sandel received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Minnesota in May of 2023. Dr. Sandel enjoys preventative medicine and .

Dr. Sandel spends her winter months watching her two oldest kids play hockey and the youngest tags along to watch too. She has two dogs, a bloodhound named Charlie, who provides endless wrinkles. Also, Semi, a Labrador mix, who was hit by a semi-truck as a stray where he received his namesake. She has two cats Meeko and Sitka, and many chickens.

In Dr. Sandel’s free time she enjoys crocheting, reading, watching the kids play hockey, fishing, and enjoying the countryside. Dr. Sandel and her husband Brian currently are working on building a fence for their future horse for her and her family to enjoy.

Dr. Sandel will start seeing new patients Tuesday! 🐾💕
