✨Representative Spotlight!✨
📍Chris joins us from our hometown–Hamilton, NJ! One of Chris’s favorite things to do is to always leave a place better than he found it. How does he accomplish this? “Leaving smiles on the faces of everyone in the room” he says. If that doesn’t make you saw “aweee”, just keep reading about him below!

🚚“As a driver and transporter, my primary responsibility is bringing loved ones to and from veternarian offices and hospitals. While I only joined Pet Meadow looking for a job, I’ve really come to love the work I do here. A critical piece of the journey back home, I bring families a sense of closure in the times they need it most.

🫂Just the same, it’s difficult to work in a field that sees so much vulnerability. I’m in charge of safely returning best friends back home, and that comes with a lot of emotional responsibility. I’ve found that even just being there to hand off loved ones offers a lot of support. Sometimes people just need to know you’re there for them.

❤️‍🩹I’ve really enjoyed being a driver. I love being on the road and seeing new places. The best part of my job is bringing smiles to the faces of the people we work with. I try to touch a place in everyone's heart wherever I go, and a lot of the hospitals love when I visit. I even heard they get upset when I'm absent.

🎣When I’m not on the road, I love to fish. I also really enjoy car shows–I’ve met a lot of friends over the years, and it feels awesome to be surrounded by people who have the same interests as I do.”

In anticipation of this upcoming , we take a trip down memory lane to look at the love and care shared by our pet parents–some from over two decades ago.💚

💌Take a look at some of the beautiful cards we've received from our community over the years, along with photos of their fur babies.🐾✍️

🐾In addition to our mothers, fathers, and guardians, we celebrate pet parents today, and everyday. Thank you for giving your furry friends the home they deserve.🐱🏡🐶

Dr. Alan Wolfelt is a leading voice in death education and grief counseling. He outlines 11 core tenets of companioning the bereaved in his book titled Companioning the Bereaved: A Soulful Guide for Caregivers.📖

✍️As an exercise in community support, we ask that you to share any experiences, stories, or pieces of guidance relating to these tenets. In doing so, we hope to cultivate a space of acceptance, support, and hope.🕊️

To begin, I have left an experience of my own in the comments.💚💚

Our team had a wonderful time at The Armory last Thursday. We had the chance to sit down and speak with some of the wonderful veterinary groups we're grateful to call partners.

We're looking forward to making Hospital Happy Hours a recurring thing to celebrate the hard work and dedication that supports our organizations' mutual goal: supporting pet parents everywhere!

07/11/2024

After 5 years, we're proud to continue working with Dr. Susan Cohen to provide accessible pet loss support for our community and pet parents everywhere.

If you could use some healing, or just want to hear from those who've gone through something similar, consider joining a meeting, held the second Wednesday of every month.

Yesterday, Mack and the rest of us said farewell to Kiley as she prepares for a maternity leave. She is looking forward to bringing her baby boy into the world this summer, and the entire Pet Meadow Family wishes her the very best.

Although we will miss her jokes and kindness for the next few months, we can't wait to welcome Kiley's joy and creativity back in the fall when she rejoins us.

Wish her well!🎈🎉🥳

"I truly believe we are all here to, in part, contribute love and care to those our lives touch–each of us in [our] own way. Supporting my fellow human beings in grief nourishes my soul. If you are attempting to support people in grief from a place of open-heartedness and love, you are indeed nourishing your own soul and the souls of those you touch."

"Roni was found wandering the streets after Sandy hit New Jersey. He was adopted and returned because he was not settling in fast enough for the family. At All About Them, Giant Breed Rescue, he became an ambassador attending all our events. Thank you for your generosity, kindness, love, and care with his final journey.

God Bless,
Linda G."

✨Representative Spotlight!✨
Meet Ricardo. Ricardo is our packaging team lead. Originally from New Jersey, Ricardo just recently crossed state lines and moved to Levittown. While he may have candy in the office at all times, it’s never all in one spot–“a trick” he says, to avoid eating it all in one go. Well played, Ricardo… well played.

“As a packager my top priority is ensuring that fur babies are seen home with the utmost care as soon as possible. We’re the hands that bring your loved one back to you, and appropriate presentation is so important. It’s a reflection of my team’s work and Pet Meadow’s care.

I used to work at a warehouse, so the logistics of packaging weren't anything new to me, but the chance to do the same thing for a more meaningful reason was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up. When I first started, this was a chance to be in a new environment, but Pet Meadow has introduced me to a level of care and compassion that I didn’t know existed in the warehouse world.

I love the energy everyone here brings to work and the message that Pet Meadow conveys to their employees about what we do here. Everyone is so involved and enjoys being there for our families. Returning loved ones back to their owners really feels like a team effort.

The most challenging aspect of my work is having everything line up. We have to focus on condition, presentation, memorialization, and correctness–not just to do my job well, but to make sure owners feel that sense of relief when they receive their loved one. And this all happens in a very brief timeline.

It may sound crazy, but I look forward to the rush of the work day. Knowing what we do and why we do it… it feels rewarding to have such an immense impact on our community.

I’m a computer nerd, so my free time is usually spent upholding that title. I’ve recently taken up the violin. I find that releasing stress through the medium of music is something everyone in the world should get to experience.”

"Grandpa was left alone in his home to prevent looting during Sandy and rescued by the police. When owners did not want him back, he came to All About Them, Giant Breed Rescue. He was 10 when he came and had some fear issues, so he lived his life here with us. Thank you for your kindness, love, and generosity with his final journey.

Our 🕊️Memorial Monument🕊️ sits at the front of our Hamilton location, adjacent to our Rainbow Bridge.🌈

We reserve space for our entire community on this shared headstone as a unique way to memorialize your loved one. It stands as a testament to all the loving souls we’ve been able to offer sanctuary to. Even more, it serves as a living reflection of the people we are privileged to serve.

Each name is a different life–a different story to tell.📖

We will continue to fill this monument with as many stories as we can, and we welcome your loved one to be a part of it. Stop by for a visit to learn more.💚

✨Representative Spotlight✨
Meet the magical Miranda! Miranda comes to us from New Jersey, and she doesn’t have just one favorite movie. Rather, her favorite ‘collection’ of movies is the complete Harry Potter series. Talk about movie magic! Learn more about Mirando below.

"As a representative and bereavement specialist, my job is dedicated to helping grieving pet families and parents. I assist them with whatever they need during an insanely challenging time.

I deeply value the feeling I get from helping families in need. I initially joined Pet Meadow because of my love for animals, but what I've come to appreciate most is the feeling I get from helping families. It’s what I like most about what I do, and why I continue to do it.

The most difficult part of my work is dealing with loss. The raw emotion and grief is often hard to hear. I can feel their pain. But if I’m able to make a difference in their lives, it means something. In my eyes, the assistance, grace, and compassion I can provide far outweighs the challenges that come with grief and grief counseling.

When I’m not on the clock, I love spending time with my pets and going for long drives."
