The Animal Adoption Foundation is a non-profit, no-kill shelter for dogs and cats that have been abused, abandoned, or found as strays. AAF provides a safe and humane environment for dogs and cats that are waiting to be adopted. Our caring volunteers and generous, loving donors enable us to provide a safe and happy haven for our special friends. We offer volunteer orientations on alternating Satur

* Our ICARE (Individualized Canine Adoption Readiness and Enrichment) program is a holistic, gentle approach focused on improving the adoptability of and quality of life for shelter dogs. Meet Mira 🖤🤍
Mira is a 2 year old, female, husky mix who is about 55 lbs. She is dog friendly and is currently building a new friendship with another AAF dog, JoBee. Mira loves to swim and enjoys playing with nearly any toy you offer her. In the play yard she bounces between splashing in the pool, playing with toys and being affectionate towards any volunteer she can get her paws on! Mira was found as a stray from another shelter so we are still learning more and more about this beautiful girl every day! Does she sound like the perfect addition to your family? Stranger Kittens in Purrfect Tuxedos Await Their Forever Home

Four mysterious little souls have made their way to Animal Adoption Foundation and they're dressed to impress. Meet Eleven, Max, Mike, and Will--tuxedo-clad siblings named after the characters from the hit show Stranger Things. At just 3 months old, these brothers and sisters are already turning heads in their formal black-and-white coats, as if they were born ready for a fancy gala...or maybe just a cuddle session on your couch.

Transferred to AAF from another shelter, this bonded bunch is currently residing in the kitten room, quietly stealing hearts one hesitant step at a time. While all four kittens are a bit on the shy side, they each bring something unique to the party.

Eleven, a gentle little leader in her smart tux, may be reserved, but she always keeps a protective eye on her siblings. Max, equally shy, shows her more playful side when she's comfortable, often darting after toys with surprising enthusiasm. Mike takes great comfort in the company of his siblings, drawing courage from their presence. And then there's Will--the bravest of the group--who's often the first to peek around the corner or explore a new nook.

These kittens may be quiet now, but with time, love, and a patient home, they'll no doubt blossom into affectionate, charming companions. And just imagine the family photo--four perfectly dressed kitties, ready for their close-up!

Viewers, meet Scallop, the extraordinary cat! Scallop is a 3 year old buff colored, neutered male who was rescued and has since spent his time at the Animal Adoption Foundation shelter and in foster care.

“What’s so extraordinary about that?”, you ask. Well, in addition to being a sweet, gentle, and affectionate companion, Scallop is also a special needs cat. His special need is dietary, related to surgery which he had early on in his stay at the shelter. This special boy is hoping to be adopted by a special forever chef who is willing to give him a little extra care and attention in return for his unlimited purrs, snuggles, and love.

Here’s your friendly that while us humans may find fireworks beautiful and mesmerizing, they scare our pets!! 🎇 Here’s a few steps you can take at home to make the 4th of July easier and safer for your furry friend(s):

• Keep pets inside and provide them with a safe space they can retreat to.

• Make sure your pet is wearing a current ID tag and any microchip/ tag information is up to date.

• Have a recent photo of your pet on hand in the case they get lost.

• Provide pets with toys and/or a frozen treat to keep them occupied during fireworks.

• Try playing gentle music to cover the loud noises.

• Make sure your pet gets plenty of exercise and potty breaks before the festivities and loud noises begin.

• Clear any hazardous debris that may have fallen into your yard the next day.
