The newest STSCR intakes are loaded and headed here for rehab! We got one mare last night and when our awesome haulers arrived they looked around for another horse we could help and found this sad guy out back so we snagged him too! Both need sponsors and names ❤️❤️❤️

We tried for two, but only had enough funds for one super lucky gal because we had to cover transport as well.

***im having our hauler look at the Sunday sale horses when he gets there to see if there’s any we can help.

I tried to stay away from seniors, but she broke my heart. She’s a good little kids mare and some little kiddo is gonna be extra lucky to have an amazing girl to teach them to ride.

She’s 21 years young and needs some groceries and will be headed here this afternoon. ❤️

She will need a sponsor and a name.

To sponsor and name her, it’s $500. This covers first month feed and hay, farrier apt and vet apt. It’ll also cover her antibiotics and dewormer.

🫠DANG PHONE or internet—- maybe Facebook in general?! Is NOT letting me get on live right now for some reason- I’ve been trying to get on since 3. 🥴😅 I swear, it’s always something!!! Gonna delete and redownload the app again and see if that fixes it- if not- I’ll post our new family member, and I’ll get on live ASAP- so hopefully it’s not dark by then 🤣

If it is, yall better have your coffee handy tomorrow for a morning live- don’t worry, I’ll have a whole gallon per usual. 😅🤣❤️

5 days til Christmas!!

well, thankfully there were only a handful of thinner horses, not really poor per say, thinner due to age, but riding around, seemed to have gone to homes and not traders or kill pens, overall none that were poor! But, being around Christmas time, talk about inflated pricing 😳 Also, it seemed more traders, fake kill pens and kill pens were more so out to make money than spend it...they brought alot of horses, but didnt leave with much. So, we didnt end up getting anything, because we could only afford 1-2...or a few donkeys but donks were going to homes...THANKFULLY.

Thats okay though, there will be horses who need us im sure, at Elkhart. Everything always happens for a reason, so I fully believe theres gonna be some super fortunate needy souls we come across on Saturday.

That being said, its time for me to work on the kids Christmas party items, teacher gifts, and finish the rest of my chores that I hadn't finished up just yet this morning.

ON THE PLUS SIDE- we have about 48 hours or so to raise more funds to save more than 1-2!!

No saves as of yet- I have a couple of people in house letting me know when private homes bid and we have a budget to stick to for one critical rescue we can take so we want to be able to take the neediest one if we are able. I have to bid online because if I’m in house, a few of the fake kill pen owners and traders bid me up on purpose.. and will also help their friends to bid up horses and try to profit off of us- so I’m VERY attentive to that because I DO NOT want to line their pockets.

We are still watching and waiting- if nothing tonight, Saturday is Elkhart and there’s always some needy souls there. That is where most of our saddest, sickest, and thinnest rescue horses have came from.

Gramps, Reba, the Belgian babies and lily all came from there. As did atlas, Fischer, storm, and peewee and Gracie.

Keeping our eyes open, and going with our gut on who to save without contributing to the pockets of the problems at these auctions.

There’s still time to donate and the more funds we bring in, the more we can help.

We have an hour left or so til auction starts!! We have enough to save one and cover vetting, farrier, feed and hay. Id love to pull at least two!! Can we save two lives before Christmas?? If horses are too expensive tonight, funds will be used for Elkhart on Saturday night. Sometimes at sales like this, the traders that brought mass amounts of horses will purposely bid them up so they make more money. This was a very publicized sale, so I will keep you all updated.
