Grooming takes time. And If your pet doesn't like something, it will take longer. I build their trust. I am patient. I am kind.
Did you know fully drying a dog with this length of hair takes a good amount of time?
It can also be scary for your pup.
I will stop and let your pup calm down with some lovins if they start to get scared.
I comfort throughout the Drying process, like this boy Kroger, he just wanted to lean his head on me for a minute.
He has long hair so he was getting tired of sitting there while I dried. It had been about 40 minutes at this point.
This boy all together took me about 5 hours. He was a lot of scissor work and definitely a big boy to work with lol but it was so worth it! Mr. Kroger was such a wonderful boy and looked so handsome and different when he was all done (:
Please forgive my 1yr old in the background lol
Sometimes it takes lots of patience to get a puppy to be okay with you doing your job. that's okay. I'll sit here and I'll take the time we both need to get what's needed done. I want your pup to trust me and understand I'm not here to hurt them. I'm here to help them, to HEAL them. To TEACH them.
This baby was very very aggressive for nails being done. Which often is a lot of dogs, sometimes due to their nails being cut too short and hurting them. Which means you have to build that trust back up. I decided to take a video of how I respond to a dog that is stressed and aggressive about It.
This boy has anxiety, but he did soooo well and you couldn't even tell by the start of the groom!
We took about 30 minutes when he got here getting to know each other. He relaxed so much and trusted me fully. I enjoyed having him and getting him comfortable enough to trust me and be happy. That's what all of this is all about, making sure your pup knows they are in safe hands, getting all the love they require plus some. Letting them know this is a nice experience, that it makes them comfy. That they are loved. ❤️ 💜
