“Hi. I’m D.D. Aquarius and soccer enthusiast”. 💦 ⚽️

Many of you have met D.D. before. In October of this year - she will have been with us for 2 years. She is a special dog that needs a special home but we believe her forever home is out there.

She loves a ball! The bigger the ball the better. She is a great training partner for any soccer player! We think she is an Aquarius as she loves getting sprayed with the water hose.

But her ideal home will be a single pet household where she is the main star in your eyes. She needs a home with no other dogs or cats.

The great news is if you are looking for a couch buddy who will be your number one supporter- well, this is your girl. And yes, she does look good in pink.

We are reaching out hoping someone will love this girl and let her live her life outside of the Center.

Only 25 more days until our annual Sporting Clays for Shelter Strays Fundraiser at Big Red Oak Plantation on September 13th.

In addition to a fun and challenging 12 station shoot, there will be a Flush/Flurry and Long Bird side game to warm-up or for post-main event continued shooting. We will also have a special Green Bird station. See the flyer below for the amazing prizes.

Happy Friday everyone! At every Center there are special dogs and cats that need special homes. And while they are here, with us, waiting for that special home- we ensure they get 1:1 play time and instruction.

Our staff are amazing. They focus on the individual needs of each dog and cat to ensure they find the right home. Stay tuned to learn more about DD and Apollo and other amazing adoptable dogs and cats.

We are excited that the Harris County High School Cross Country Team has included us as part of their community outreach program. Yesterday they came for orientation and will be helping us walk the dogs at the Center. This is so exciting!

Walking. Running. Cross Country Athletes. Dogs. What a wonderful match! And yes, the cats received a lot of loving too.

Hi everyone. Each week we are getting closer to our Annual Sporting Clays for Shelter Strays Fundraiser.

We are so excited about this year’s event at Big Red Oak Plantation. Not only will you enjoy a state-of-the-art sporting clay course, but we will have fun side games where you can win raffle tickets for some great prizes - including a Cuda Red Dot Sighting Optic.

Here is a video showing our TNR (Trap-Neuter- Return) Program in action. We trapped 20 feral cats last week at Melody Lakes and we will be continuing to trap over the course of the next two weeks.

Statistics show that every unneurted or unspayed feral cat can have up to 12 kittens each year. So, these efforts have approximately prevented the birth of around 240 free-roaming feral/stray cats.

Thank you Brittany Griffin Bennett! You are the best. Thank you to all the staff and volunteers that also help us maintain this program.

Today is a great day! It is National Spoil Your Dog Day AND we have an adoption event at Three Dog Columbus from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm.

Thank you all for your support during this kitten season. It has been overwhelming and sadly, not yet letting up. For example, last week we received 32 kittens in one day. With these numbers comes illness and this has become our next challenge - we are in need of medicine and medical supplies for treatment. So this ask is for monetary donations - whatever you can give. Of course the wet fancy feast food is vital and we still need the food - but we need to help them heal so they will be able to eat. Your donations promise them a fighting chance and our promise is to fight for each and every one of them ! Hi everyone, Well, kitten season is still in full swing. We expected and planned for a tough season this year and we weren’t wrong. The Center is full. The team is on top of it but there a few things we can really use right now. Specifically: - PetAg KMR 2nd Step Kitten Weaning Formula Powder - Fancy Feast Kitten Wet Canned Food - Purina One Healthy Kitten Dry Food FYI, it is tough to find the KMR formula right now and there may be delayed shipping - as it is kitten season - but if you can help us - we will be grateful receiving any order over the next 2 weeks. After that, we will really need Fancy Feast and Purina One Kitten Food. These should be easier to find. You can go to our website and order on Amazon or Chewy but we have also been able to find these products at Tractor Supply and Petco. Thank you to those of you that have given recently for the kittens. It has helped us so much. And finally- we hope you enjoy the attached video that shows how your support helps us provide the best care and future homes for these kittens. And as always, we thank you!

Tiffany and Clifford went out on the town for the day! Car rides, trail walks, and shopping were all part of the plan. Peak kitten season in southern Georgia is from May - October. Although the HSofHC (and our foster families) have prepared for this, we anticipate a higher need for food and supplies to cover this peak season. So we find ourselves, having to reach out to you again for support. We narrowed down our list to the top 5 most needed items. We just recently accepted 10 puppies found living alone in a hole at the bottom of an old tree trunk. They are safe now and doing great. But we are in need of canned wet puppy food and esbilac and we can use your help.
