🗓 Monday, Janurary 5th , 2026

It’s that time again!
No matter where you live, Albany, Holden, Walker, Watson, Denham Springs, French Settlement, or anywhere in between, you can take part.

🐱 HOW TO GET INVOLVED

1. Stop by the Livingston Parish Animal Shelter to register and pick up a trap.
We have a limited number of traps available, so don’t wait.

Already have your own trap? Let us know when you register so we can plan ahead.

⚠️ IMPORTANT DETAILS

Trap Pickup & Registration
📅 Janurary 2nd & 3rd
🕗 Fri & Sat: 9AM–2PM

Trap Night: Janurary 4th– Set your traps the evening before.

Drop-Off: Janurary 5th– Bring cats in traps to the shelter by 9AM.

➡️ Cats MUST arrive in traps. No carriers or hand-delivered cats.

Pick-Up & Release:
You’ll be called that afternoon to pick up your cats, release them back where they were trapped, and return traps to the shelter.

🗓 Traps must be returned by 4PM on Janurary 6th

🧾 ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• For community/feral cats only (not personal pets)
• Cats must arrive in traps, not carriers or loose
• Participants must be 18+ and Livingston Parish residents
• All cats will be ear-tipped during surgery to show they’ve been fixed

Every trap you set helps reduce the stray population. Every cat fixed helps keep our neighborhoods cleaner, safer, and more humane.

Meet Charlotte 🐾
Charlotte is a true sweetheart with so much love to give. She came to us earlier this year after being trapped in a parking lot, where she survived by hiding under cars to escape the sun. She was very thin, dehydrated, and had sores on her little feet.

After being evaluated by our vet, we believe Charlotte is around 6–8 years old. While she prefers to be the only kitty in the home, she absolutely adores people. Charlotte is a devoted lap cat, when you sit down, she’s right there. If you’re lying down, she’ll curl up on your back, and every now and then she’ll sweetly lick your hands.

Charlotte has the gentlest soul and is truly a loving companion. If you’ve been considering opening your heart and home to a middle aged kitty so she can finally experience a home of her own, Charlotte just might be the one you’ve been waiting for 🩷🐾

🎄 Meet Mr. Grey 🎄

Mr. Grey came to us from a TNR site with a severe neck wound. The feeder let us know he was being bullied and beaten up there, so we made the decision to keep him safe as a sanctuary cat, believing it wouldn’t be fair to send him back.

What we didn’t expect… was just how sweet and adoptable this boy truly is.

Mr. Grey is shy and very gentle, but once he knows you like he knows us, he happily comes up for love and pets. Sit down, and he’ll quietly climb into your lap, soaking up every bit of affection. He’s a true gentle giant with the softest soul.
