We had this beautiful hand-crocheted baby blanket and a hat donated to us to raise funds for our rescue. We will be opening 25 spots, $5 a spot for a chance to make it yours! The blanket is generously sized, 38x38 inches, and the hat will fit a baby (or a large and tolerant cat — we are not going to judge!) Drumroll! 🥁

Tiny Tiny Josephine has been spayed! Many thanks to Dr. Nordt and Atlantic Animal Health Center for doing the honors. This girl is finally on the market, but not without her trademark surprises! For those of you playing along, let’s recap TTJ’s five months on earth: born with twisted legs, she underwent weeks of physical therapy, with 5-10 sessions a day; she refused to get any bigger and after exhaustive testing (thank you All Creatures Veterinary Care Center!) everything but her growth hormone were perfectly fine. She appears to be a rare genuine pituitary dwarf (yes, she’ll be a kitten forever!) Finally she was ready… and there was another (gross) surprise: cystic ovaries! The sweet girl must’ve been in considerable pain, and we are relieved she can now heal and continue on her unique path… and surprised that despite everything she is just the sweetest girl, two pounds of very insistent purrs and headbutts and cuddles.

So to honor Tiny Tiny Josephine’s unorthodox style, we announce that she is finally ready for adoption — with a picture of her ovaries! Pandora is getting spayed today, something we wished could’ve happened before she fell victim to backyard breeders. Considering the breathing issues she came to us with, we felt most comfortable having her surgery at a private vet. The surgery even with a rescue discount is $250, not including vaccines and testing for FIV/FeLV.

Another week goes by, and no apps for Zipper. We get so much interest when we initially take in medical cases, but after they’re all patched up no one comes running for them. We know Zipper’s person is out there, help us find them!

Remember Taylor Pawtner?

All his siblings are adopted, but this sweet and gorgeous boy is growing up in his foster home — but he’s not complaining! He still needs his bladder expressed twice a day, although he is using litter box a little bit too. His bladder is still enlarged, but he is a happy and playful (we mean completely bonkers — running around and annoying the resident cats) kitten.

We are hoping that he will find a home whenever he is ready to go up for adoption. He is so sweet, and such a good boy! Easy to take care of as well. Of course we hope he regains full function, but if he doesn’t, we sure hope there is someone to love him regardless! After all, we all deserve to be loved, no matter how imperfect.

Tiny but mighty! 💪💪

Little Ponyo has lived up to the saying. She spent all last week battling an awful upper respiratory infection. We weren’t even sure she was going to make it. She has since graduated from the incubator, and back to doing normal kitten things! We know as we head into fall we’ll be getting sicker and sicker kittens, as many cats will be on their 2nd or 3rd litter of the season. Consider sending some high quality food to Ponyo, and for any other kittens that need an extra helping hand to survive.

Our sweet Copper made it through his entropion surgery with flying colors! He sends his many thanks to everyone who donated toward his care and especially to Dr Nordt of Atlantic Animal Health Center who did his surgery! Copper will be available for adoption soon – as soon as he recovers from his surgery, and we are certain that he is pain-free and comfortable! He is only three years old, up-to-date on his vaccines, neutered, and negative for feline leukemia and FIV. Copper has a mild heart murmur that is not currently affecting his health. We are so grateful for the opportunity to help the sweet and beautiful boy!

Zipper is ready to trade her scars in for wings, churu, and a HOME!

If you missed Zipper’s story, she unfortunately earned her name after being found in the Philly streets with a large, open wound that extended from her shoulders to the base of her tail. She has recovered enough that we no longer want to hold her back from the life she deserves! Zipper is very social, affectionate, and around 11 months old. She loves wet food, feather toys, cardboard scratch pads, and climbing her cat tree. Zipper would do best as your one and only, but may do okay with other animals with slow introductions and close monitoring. We hope that once Zipper's food insecurity and vulnerability of living on the streets washes away, she'll be more tolerant of other animals. She would also do best with mature children that respect boundaries. Zipper has made great strides over the past month she's been with us, and we can't wait to see her continue to shine!

It’s Black Cat Appreciation Day!! Deale would love to celebrate with a home of her own!

Deale is a gorgeous petite kitten who was sadly hit by a car. Her back leg was broken and she was temporarily paralyzed. She can now use all four legs properly! Sometimes her gait is a little wobbly, but she continues to grow stronger every day. She is such a sweetheart that is going to be a wonderful addition to any family. Deale adores other cats and and loves to hide her toys.

Deale is a gorgeous petite kitten who was sadly hit by a car. Her back leg was broken and she was temporarily paralyzed when pulled into our rescue. She was very fearful of people. Her foster family gave her a quiet, safe place to heal. Once her leg fully healed, they were able to begin holding and playing with Deale. Her progress has been nothing less than amazing. She can now use all four legs properly. Sometimes her gait is a little wobbly but she continues to grow stronger every day. She has become very affectionate with her foster family. She is still nervous around unfamiliar people at times but immediately purrs when you pick her up. She is such a sweetheart that is going to be a wonderful addition to any family. Deale adores other cats and toys. She is very playful! Her ideal home would have another young or cat friendly cat. She has been fostered with kittens, cats, dogs and children. We received a message about these three babies yesterday. They were found on the side of the road wrapped in a blanket, wet, cold, dirty, and screaming. Thanks to those loud lungs they were discovered and brought inside by a Good Samaritan. Of course we took them in as soon as we could! To our surprise, none of them have normal sized tails!
