Fluffy McFluffers is putting in as much effort as all of us at 4 pm on Friday.
Here is a small glimpse into what we do on any given day. There have been times we’ve had 30 minutes to get to the shelter to beat a euthanasia timestamp. We’ve left a lawnmower in the middle of a half cut yard, our uneaten dinners on the table, and sometimes out of our beds. We are happy to report Tommy has made a full recovery and has been adopted! We have a goal of raising $5,000 for @givingtuesday, help us continue to save the ones that need it most!

This morning we had to rush baby Trout to the emergency room because of acute respiratory distress.

Important Taylor Pawtner update!
Some cats seem to have all the worst luck – Taylor Pawtner was one of the litter of healthy, pretty kittens. They needed bottle feeding, but otherwise seemed unremarkable; indeed, the rest of his siblings were adopted quickly. But poor Taylor had some unusual issues – first he started blowing up like a balloon when he was barely 4 weeks old. After the exploratory surgery found an atonic and hugely distended bladder, he had to have a catheter inserted. After a few weeks with a catheter and a few more of having his urine manually expressed, Taylor started peeing on his own (to great relief of his foster family), but he also had a herniated abdominal wall. Add to that only one descended testicle, and he had to have another surgery – third one in his barely five months of life!
Thanks to Dr. Chiappetta of Animal Clinic of Hammonton, he had his hernia repaired Wednesday, along with his neuter. Of course this boy could not have a procedure without an exciting surprise… in this case, it was his missing second testicle! They looked high and low, and it was nowhere to be found. Testicular agenesis (when a testicle doesn’t form) is a very rare condition in cats, but we don’t expect anything but the unusual from this boy!
Taylor is still pretty sore from his surgery (no surprise there), but he is eating and purring, and wearing both his cone and a onesie like a good boy that he is. Provided his recovery is uneventful and he doesn’t develop any complications, he will be available for adoption in two weeks. It’s really hard to believe that he came this far – he was supposed to be an easy kitten, and yet ended up one of the more medically complex cases we ever handled. We can’t wait for him to finally have a normal life.
