Monet’s handler shared this service task training video: “Perfect opportunity today to practice some heart rate task training with Mo. Eventually he’ll be able to detect heart rate spikes sooner than any watch or heart monitor and will signal for me to sit and apply pressure rather than me having to guide him before I get too dizzy. He’s such an excellent dog.” Monet is from our April 2024 litter

Monet continued to work on his service training which included generalizing another task he’ll perform, which is to locate any nearby public restroom. Monet is from our April 2024 litter
Monet continued to work on his service training. His handler shared, “one of these training opportunities consisted of generalizing another service task he’ll perform, which is to locate any nearby public restroom. For people with ADHD, autism or anxiety, you may not realize you have to use the restroom until you really have to go, or it can be overwhelming to navigate a store to find the bathroom, especially when it’s urgent (I have been in this situation an embarrassing amount of times and it’s very scary). This is our first time practicing this in public as well. The objective is to guide me to the bathroom. What I wasn’t expecting him to do was to try and lead me to a stall, which he attempted to do each time we did this, because this is what we practice at home. In his head he needs to “find the toilet”, but I want him to learn the entrance or inside of the bathroom is sufficient enough in case we end up at a restroom with occupied stalls. Outside of this exercise we got more practice walking past lots of commotion as soccer practices were happening on the fields nearby, a playground with children playing nearby, and there was another dog on leash at the field. Very proud of this boy and his progress so far.” Monet is from our April 2024 litter
