In case anyone needs this. I don’t know this person, just forwarding the information. Hopefully it’s helpful, couldn’t hurt to listen to a FREE webinar about helping your dog 😊❤️🐶

If you didn’t know, every year I take care of dozens of dogs on the 4th of July holiday.

Inevitably, a few of those dogs will come to me with extreme phobias around fireworks.

And if you haven’t seen my past posts, fireworks in these parts are a pretty big deal. My next door neighbor’s house has resembled a war zone in past years, and it’s not uncommon for me to have a 360 degree view of fireworks as they surround me when I’m at our facility.

But every year, the dogs are relaxed…

And we’re often able to reverse phobias and create neutral dogs around fireworks pretty darn quickly.

Because SO many people asked me for help leading up to the 4th of July holiday here in the states…

I decided to do a very informal live chat on the topic.

I’ll share with you how we:

(1) Manage dogs and create safe zones so even scared dogs aren’t stressed out
(2) Change how dogs feel about fireworks so they go from cowering, shaking and drooling to being able to be outside with us enjoying the holiday

I’ve taken several dogs with extreme phobias…

Dogs that previously have been heavily medicated on the holiday…

To being totally fine outside while fireworks are going off right next door.

If you want to hear the stories of how I did it, join us live Monday July 1st at 11am Pacific.

It’s free…

I’m not selling anything…

It will be informal - nothing fancy (although be prepared, I’m not known for brevity)

I just want to share this stuff with those that can benefit so these types of holidays don’t have to be so stressful anymore…

And it’s just too much info to cram into an Instagram or Facebook post.

And for those who asked, I’ll do my best to record it and post it for those of you unable to make it live, but no guarantees technology will cooperate with me (if it doesn’t, it will be user error but me and technology are often not friends).

Meet Beatrix! She was a very pleasant surprise this morning. She’s a leash reactive Aussie who also is sensitive/reactive to men, so our expectation was that she was NOT going to be very impressed with me lol.

She was an absolute love(to me anyway 😂). We did get her to show her reactive side with her neighbor & it was encouraging. She seems happy to respond to communication and I’m very optimistic about the future for her & her parents! Keep an eye out for her. Great job sweet girl! 😊❤️🐶

Asher had a solo session Saturday. Riley was definitely not happy about being left behind even though she was wearing her cone of shame and recovering from minor surgery lol 😊❤️🐶

One of my old clients recently lost their dog, hoping they still follow my page… Lee & Dave Tutu may be a good fit for you guys?

Charlie went to the dog park yesterday to work on his tendency to get overstimulated at the sight of other dogs & distractions in general. He did fantastic, even with the added distraction of the tennis courts 😂 he’s such a great dog, just working out how to live with us humans. Great job buddy! 😊❤️🐶

Baxter & his Dad working on structured walking and trying to learn the timing of his corrections so he doesn’t need to apply as much pressure. Baxter actually did fantastic yesterday, we worked on his reactivity(excitement, not fear or aggression) to other dogs and he was able to sit politely while we chatted with a neighbor and her dog. Great job buddy! 😊❤️🐶

Place work(with bloopers) for Baxter today. Hoping to get Mom & Dad some relief while on the phone lol. Baxter picked up the position really fast…it’s not his fault my fingers were blocking the camera and I almost ran him over 😂. Great job buddy! 😊❤️🐶

Terrible picture, but good session Saturday with the Aussholes! Great job pups! 😊❤️🐶

Baxter & his Dad starting to do long line work for recall after our walk this morning. Baxter was a star on his walk, and he was able to resist becoming overstimulated with a few of the neighborhood dogs walking past while we were training in the yard. Great job to Dad and Baxter both! 😊❤️🐶

Had some fun with the Aussholes Saturday. They’re really coming along nicely with their reactivity using either a “sniff” command or a behavioral down. Great job pups! 😊❤️🐶

Meet Baxter. His Dad reached out for a hand with some obedience work and loose leash walking, along with some frustrating puppy behaviors.

He’s super smart and very happy to work, so he’ll be a welcome break from my day to day reactivity stuff. Fun pup, keep an eye out for him! Great job buddy 😊❤️🐶

It’s not just me!😂

Asher started off poorly here, but recovered quickly and both he & Riley are doing extremely well utilizing down/stay and ground feeding to counter their reactivity. They’ve made lots of progress with this method even though it’s counter to everything that’s worked for every other reactive dog I’ve helped lol. Typically it’s best to keep moving and create as much distance as possible as quickly as possible, but these two are special 😂 Train the dog in front of you! 😊❤️🐶

No zoomies today, the yard is flooded 😂😊❤️🐶

The Aussholes seem to be picking up the behavioral down strategy for their reactivity pretty well. This dog that passed by was reactive as well so it was extra tough for them to keep their down. Great job pups! 😊❤️🐶

Neat trick to try! I haven’t done it myself yet…just saw it 😂
