Bluebird Gap Farm offers an exciting, family-oriented adventure and educational experience rarely see in an urban environment. This 60-acre farm has over 100 domestic and wild animals, including everything from farm animals, to a Red-tailed Hawk, tortoises, emu, alpacas, llamas, and peafowl. Our Powhatan Pavilion can seat about 100 people and has a charcoal grill (user must provide own charcoal).

This shelter is available for half and full day reservations. Other picnic tables are placed throughout the farm for guest's convenience. Visitors can also enjoy the Hampton Master Gardeners' Display Garden and Arboretum, a large playground with plenty of benches for the adults to sit and watch, public restrooms, a nature trail, an amphitheater with seating for special events and activities.

Jayden has completed internships at animal care-focused worksites at Bluebird Gap Farm and Willow Woods Equine Sanctuary & Farm, and most recently made huge strides by interacting with and ultimately riding a horse! It's safe to say that as Jayden makes his way in the world, he's going to do so with a "can-do attitude" and big smile on his face. The world is yours to master after graduation, Jayden - you can accomplish anything!

Last week, Morris the Turtle was unveiled at the Bluebird Gap Farm Birthday event. He was painted, stuffed with plastic and trash, and mounted by one of our own Master Naturalists. Make sure to check him out next time you're on the farm!🐢💚

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY: The Chesapeake Bay Foundation is seeking helpful hands for installing a living shoreline at Bluebird Gap Farm from Sept. 9-14. The work includes bending and lifting, as the project involves installing logs, sand and plants to create a 158-foot shoreline. Living shorelines protect tidal shorelines from erosion by planting native wetland plants, grasses, shrubs, and trees. Go to: https://bit.ly/4fNXeJd to register as a volunteer.🌳

More progress was made on the pollinator project at Bluebird Gap Farm today! Next is putting down cardboard and mulch. Thanks to Melinda, Gayle, Al and Adam for working in the heat to get the plants in and watered!
