Good afternoon, friends.

Velvet and Penelope would like to make the following announcement:

After careful consideration and monitoring of the impending winter storm, we have decided to close the clinic at 5 PM today, Tuesday, January 21st. We will remain closed tomorrow and plan to reopen during regular hours on Thursday, January 23rd. Please note that this may change depending on the weather overnight on Wednesday.

We hope everyone stays safe and warm. If your pet requires urgent care during this time, please contact one of the following emergency clinics:

- Blue Pearl: 843-216-7554
- CVRC: 843-614-8387

Additionally, if your beloved pet ingests anything potentially harmful, please call the Pet Poison Control Hotline at 800-213-6880.

Good afternoon, BFAC friends and family! Looks like we have a cold week ahead of us with the potential for wintry weather, and because of this, a potential for power outages and weather closures. While many of us are comfortable with this kind of weather, the reality is that the South is not well equipped for it. Your safety and the safety of our staff matters to us. If you feel you need to cancel any upcoming appointments or need refills on your pets medication, please call the clinic at 843-414-7455. We will be open regular hours on Monday, 1/20. There is the potential that we will close early on Tuesday the 21st, depending what time this weather system moves in. We are hoping to have a more definitive plan in place tomorrow that will be posted on our Facebook, and sent out through the PetDesk app. Stay safe and warm and batteries charged, as icy limbs often take down power lines when we have these rare wintry bursts!

Effective immediately, we will be implementing a cancellation/no show fee of $50 per pet/appt for all appointments that are not kept or rescheduled with 24 hours advance notice. Those fees will need to be paid prior to scheduling another appointment for any of your pets. We love providing quality care to pets in our community and nurturing those relationships between pet and owner. Last minute cancellations and/or no shows utilize time that could have been used to help another pet in need.

Fireworks are coming! If you've been living in the South, you already know, but if you're new to the area, New Years Celebrations in the South frequently involve LOTS of fireworks! Please prepare your pets accordingly by making sure of the following:
- Have them in a secure location to ensure they do not get scared and run away.
-Prepare a room or kennel where they feel safe; keep blinds closed and lights and/or TV on.
-Have sedatives if needed.
-If you have company, please make them aware of your pets needs (keeping them indoors/in their secluded space).

Should your pet need sedatives, please call your vet asap; our office is open til 6pm today, 8am-4pm tomorrow and closed on New Years Day!
