Meet Buddy 🐾

Buddy was brought to us a little over 2 weeks ago by a couple who had been seeing him run loose in their neighborhood for over 2 weeks. Buddy does not have a microchip and had no identification on his collar. No one has reached out about him, so he’s up for adoption!

⭐️ Buddy has now been neutered, is heartworm negative and on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. He is up to date on vaccines, and desperate to find a loving home.
He LOVES to be loved. He is very smart, learns fast, and walks well on a leash. Our staff have been working a lot with him to try and give him the best shot at adoption!

Buddy has an old injury on his front right leg that has almost completely healed. The bones in that leg were broken and displaced so his leg is a little larger right around that area, but it does NOT slow him down!! He jumps, runs, and plays without any hesitation.
He will most likely develop arthritis in that leg a little earlier than his others, but putting him through an intense and painful surgery to attempt repair is not something we recommend due to the stage of healing his leg is in. He is on antibiotics to help control the infection in that area.

🦮 We walk him on a leash here because he likes to try and find new ways to get out of the fence to go run, so he would be best as an inside dog with someone who enjoys long walks, hiking or running! He THRIVES being outside and exploring, so an active family is going to be best for Buddy.

Buddy has been good with other dogs, and great with all people so far! We have not exposed Buddy to cats and have no idea how he would do. We also don’t know of any history regarding livestock (chickens, horses, cows, etc.)

💲His adoption fee is $200 to help cover his vaccines, neuter, x-rays, antibiotics, and preventative medicines.

If you’d like to set up an appointment to meet Buddy, please give us a call or comment below!

We are so blessed to have an incredible team who will go above and beyond for our patients. Thank you Dr. Morring, Dr. Magee, Alicia, Emily, Jamie, and Vivian for all that you do every day! 🤍

People who work in veterinary medicine are an entire breed of their own. This goes beyond liking animals (who doesn't like animals? Unless you're a psychopath). This is a deep rooted passion to be a voice for the voiceless. This is working extra long hours, often with no breaks, occasionally not even to p*e. It is realizing you will be covered in hair and some sort of bodily fluid more often than not. It is taking the small lunch break you had to feed that patient who hasn't been eating well. It is sitting with patients during recovery, (if you haven't relaxed in a kennel with a patient, do you even work in Vet Med)? It is taking that patient home who was rescued or surrendered because you can't bear the thought of them being sad and alone. Our bodies, brains, and souls are exhausted every day, but we go back for more. Because we love animals. We understand how important your pet is to you, because we feel that way about every patient that comes in that door. We understand the heartbreak of loss and the excitement of new life. We take the little free time we have and pour it back into our love for animals. Because they make the hard days worth it. ❤️

Hurricane Relief 🐾

Homes, animal shelters, veterinary clinics, and farms were demolished in the wake of Hurricane Helene.
In an effort to help ease the burden on those who care for our beloved furry friends, Pawsitive Impact will be collecting donations tomorrow, October 5th, at the Hayden Day festival hosted by the Town of Hayden! Hayden Day is from 9am to 2pm and we will be accepting donations during those hours!

🐾Donations requested are pet and livestock supplies such as food, litter, collars/leashes, halters/lead ropes, blankets, towels, etc.
🐾Monetary donations will be accepted as well and will be either spent on goods that are most requested, or sent with the disaster relief team to give to a family, shelter, or clinic in need.

If you are unable to make it to the festival and still wish to donate, please let me know and I will schedule a time to meet with you to collect donations!

Our friends over at AWC are finally able to take in raptors from the public! Due to circumstances out of their control they were unable to take in our native birds of prey for the last few months, but they have been cleared and are back in business!

We are so thankful to the team at AWC for the great work they do 🤍🦅

We are happy to be back to helping our native wild raptors once again! 🦅

Back in November 2022, the Alabama Department of Natural Resources (ADNR) had to stop the rehabilitation of raptors due to the highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI). It was a necessary step to protect the health and safety of our avian community.

Since then, we’ve been hard at work renovating our clinic to better serve the needs of these magnificent birds of prey. Our new and improved facilities are now ready to provide the best care and support for their recovery journey.

If you find an injured bird of prey, please note that intake can ONLY be scheduled through appointments.

Appointment Details:

Starting May 1st, 2024, Animal Medical Hospital will be implementing a No Call, No Show policy.
We understand that sometimes you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, life happens! However, when you do not call in advance to cancel your appointment you may be preventing another pet from getting much needed treatment.

Our new policy:
Failure to be present for your appointment without advanced notice will result in a $25 charge being added to your account. No Call, No Shows will be documented in your chart.
If you fail to cancel your appointment and "no show" more than 2 times, you will have to prepay the exam charge in order to schedule your next appointment. This charge is non-refundable. If you need to cancel or reschedule, the exam charge will be applied to the next appointment you are able to attend.

We understand the need to cancel, and we will not penalize you for that, but we ask that you please be respectful of our staff and other clients by calling ahead to let us know you will not be able to attend.
