I shot this wounded forkhorn on the opening day of rifle. It was a good thing too because the calls to track keep rolling in. We have been BUSY this season to say the least. Shout out to all of our previous clients that have shared our contact. Word of mouth is the biggest contributor to our continued success.

I had the opportunity to bring the family along and watch Myles work his first track with Jibbers. He did really well. He has always had a good way with Jibs and watching the two of them go to work has me hopeful for things to come.

It was nice to be the hunter and have people I love show up to support and share my harvest. Hunting can get lonely. The recovery doesn't have to be. Give us a call. It's what we do!

Yesterday was a rough one but ended on a positive note. We had two tracks after a night of heavy rain. Jibs just could not keep things straight. The first track we could not advance and decided to back out after searching for a couple hours. The next track was more promising. Torrin Grange had arrowed his first buck and knew the shot was back. He described a deer that was hurt badly and probably didn't survive. We tracked to last blood and cast out in nearly every direction looking to find any sign. Over five miles of searching with several restarts led us back to the truck. Soaked in rain and with zero leads everyone was considering calling it quits. Even Jibs was taking a nap in the truck. Torrin did exactly what you'd hope every sportsman would. He just couldn't bring himself to quit. Everyone rallied around him and made one last search. We each took a ridgeline and we made a final push. Before long Mark Heikkila had stumbled upon the deer and it was a happy ending. Even though we had a rough day in the woods it was super cool to be a part of this track and to see the grit and persistence pay off for Torrin on his first buck. It reminded me why we do it. During the darkest hour. When all hope is lost. We rally.

Jibs did her thing tonight. Steele called me last night after losing blood on this dandy buck. It must have been hard to give it time and not push the track with the rain and weather that moved in. Unfortunately he had to wait almost 24 hours for the calvary to arrive. He was also super patient with Jibs when she didn't do anything like what was expected on the trail. Turns out the buck made a hard turn and was nowhere near the spot of last blood or the line from the track. Jibs was dealing with some swirling wind, but got things straightened out within 15 minutes of taking up the trail. She marked a dead deer in the air and in no time we were standing over it. She really is coming into her own out there. Thanks again for trusting Jibs and calling us for help Steele Jondreau. Congratulations on your trophy. Shout out to Kellen Koskinen and Mike Koskinen for helping Steele and giving us the referral.

First call of 2024 came in two full days after the deer was hit. Jon hit this deer on the evening of the opener and ran out of blood after 50 yards. He was sure of the hit and couldn't believe how little this deer bled. Jibs got downwind and made pretty short work of the recovery once she convinced me that she was serious. Happy to help Jon get the closure he needed. Being a good sportsman he did everything he could and was happy to know that his deer wasn't suffering any longer. Congratulations Jon! Rautio Berry Farm
