We were very excited about the success that many Koning DG offspring had at the CDS annual show. The top 1,2, and 3 spots in the Cal-bred 4 year old futurity were all by Koning. They all showed great self carriage, ease of transitions, and fantastic rideability. With three exception gaits we are really looking forward to seeing these young horses move up the levels. We hope you enjoy these clips as well as Koning’s presentation at our 2024 keuring this past month.
Koning DG has completed all his approval requirements for the KWPN and GOV. All his offspring are eligible for main studbook.

Koning DG is available fresh semen for the 2025 breeding year!!

We made it home safely after a great Markel/USEF Young Horse Championship at Lamplight Equestrian center in Wayne, Illinois. I want to thank Richard and Linda Nickerson for motivating us to go to the championship and helping us drive to Wayne and back. Congratulations to the Nickersons with their horse Serupgaard’s Cezanne who ended up in 3rd place in the 5 yr old division. We look forward to watching him as he continues to develop.
The results where beyond expectation and the fact that 3 of the horse where related to Valeska DG (Krack C x Farrington x Doruto) who represented the USA in Verden as a 6 yr old at World Championships in Verden made it very special.
I’m forever thankful to Tony and Betty DeGroot for the opportunity given together with the family to develop DG Bar Ranch.
I want to thank Amber, Elizebeth, Tamara, and Judy who kept everything going while we were gone.
And also, thankful for Caitlin and Ashlyn for getting everything ready to leave and flying out to help and Ashlyn doing a super job presenting Maebria DG in the 6 yr division.
I want to thank Custom Saddlery, and Jackie Quijano, for continued support and fitting their saddles to our horses for optimal performance .
I was overwhelmed by all the messages of support during this event and want to thank everyone for their support, it means a lot to me.
What made it extra special was that the horses were home bred and developed at DG Bar Ranch. Oscar HF was bred by Hamar family who purchased Valeska DG 7 yrs ago and I’m thankful to them for giving us the opportunity to continue to work with her offspring. I want to thank Stal Krol for selling Janda, the mother of Pharoah DG to me, and to recognize and mention the late Gerrit v Hof who created the special pedigree of Janda .
I want to congratulate Markel insurance on their 20th anniversary supporting the young horse program and thankful for their continued support of the young horse program it would not be possible without their support.
Last but not least I want to thank Christine Traurig for her time, support and sharing her knowledge to develop the young horse program .
Looking forward to what the future holds for these horses .
