We will be starting up a new Canine Good Citizen session on January 12th in the evening. What a great way to start out the New Year!!! These classes are open to ALL BREEDS & focus on appropriate canine behavior including working around people & other dogs. Dogs must be 5 months old.

K9 DAX DOES IT AGAIN!!! On Saturday Dax received the German Shepherd Dog Club of America “2023 Hero Dog Award”. Deputy Forlenza and Dax traveled downstate to the Illinois State Fairgrounds in Springfield to accept the award and to perform a canine demonstration at the German Shepherd Dog Club of America National Specialty Show. The National Specialty Show had 335 German Shepherd dogs entered in the competition this year. Dax won the award for his career accomplishments thus far and characterizing the best attributes of a working German Shepherd Dog. Special thanks to Alex Rothacker from TOPS Kennels for also attending and performing a demonstration with Dax for everyone in attendance.

Congratulations to Mary Jane and Laika!

Laika was awarded 2023 Obedience Victrix in Springfield at the GSDCA Nationals. She took high in trial at all 3 trials and high combined on Friday.

Laika just received her OTCh earlier in the month. Way to go Jane and Laika!!

We are proud to let everyone know that our club took 2nd Place in the Regional Club Challenge this year.

The mission of the Regional Club Challenge is to recognize the activities of the GSDCA Regional Clubs and to foster growth through competition as well as the sharing of ideas and resources. In addition, the GSDCA Regional Club Challenge is meant to promote camaraderie among the individual members within the regional clubs associated with the GSDCA by encouraging competition with other clubs.

The Regional Club Challenge awards points to the Regional Club whose members compete in a variety of activities ranging from titles and awards to member recruitment.

A big thank you & congratulations to all of the great Teams that took place in the challenge & earned titles & awards. You make your club great!!!

September Correctional/Fun Match - Tomorrow, Friday (September 22) at 7:00 pm. This is the LAST ONE FOR THIS YEAR. (The October Correctional has been cancelled because it falls during GSDCA Nationals.)
