If your lawn is being treated, we recommend leaving all grass clippings for at least 2 mowings after an application. But what about in between applications? Leave your clippings on your lawn! Clippings return nutrients to your turf- up to 15% of all the food value of the fertilizer applied. Because clippings have a high water content, they break down and return moisture and nutrients to the soil fast.

No! University research has disproved the myth that clippings contribute to thatch buildup. Thatch is primarily comprised of roots, stems and blades and bagging your clippings does not reduce the build-up of thatch.

Proper mowing is critical for keeping your lawn healthy and looking good. There are 3 things you can do to keep your lawn 𝘢 𝘤𝘶𝘵 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘷𝘦 the rest:
1.𝐌𝐨𝐰 𝐓𝐮𝐫𝐟 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡 - The hotter the weather the higher you should mow. Higher mowing promotes deeper roots, prevents water loss by shading the soil and reduces w**ds by preventing sunlight from warming w**d seeds.
2. 𝐍𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐌𝐨𝐰 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝟏/𝟑 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐇𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐚𝐭 𝐚 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞 Mowing too short removes too much of the green part of the plant and leaves stalky looking crowns and stems giving the lawn a brown scalped look. Recovering from a single "scalping" sets the lawn's growth back many weeks.
3. 𝐊𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐌𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐬 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐩 Dull mower blades can rip and shred the tips of your grass blades turning them a bleached, tan color and leaving the whole lawn looking brown. Sharpen mower blades several times per year. If you have a large lawn, sharpen once a month for best results.

Recently we've received numerous calls about mushrooms in the lawn 🍄 Mushrooms become visible following rainy periods. These mushrooms are a visible sign of the fungal activity occurring underground. They do not typically affect turfgrass health and are primarily a cosmetic problem. The mushrooms will normally disappear under drier and warmer conditions. If you would like them to disappear more quickly, you can hand remove them (using gloves) or rake them up and dispose of them. Chemical applications are not required.
