In this January 27, 1983 article from the Hanover Evening Sun Dr. Fillmore discusses behavioral issues in dogs. While it isn’t always possible to pick your puppy and begin training right at 8 weeks, there are several resources, trainers, behaviorists and/or medications available to help your pet’s overall behavior. Many of our local rescues provide detailed instructions for helping your rescued pet acclimate to your home. You can also schedule a consultation exam with one of our veterinarians to discuss any concerns with your pets behavior to rule out any underlying medical conditions.

Our November Raffle Basket will benefit The York County Sheriff's Office’s K9 Unit.
You can purchase tickets at the clinic or by phone for $1 each or 6 tickets for $5.

They begain this program in 2008. Since then the program has grown to a multiple K9 Program offering a wide variety of services to the County of York.
The K9 Unit is a valuable asset to the residents of the county as well as other law enforcement agencies.
The K9 Team attends specialized training to perform their duties.
K9's are trained to:
* Explosive Detection
* Illegal Narcotics Detection
* Building Searches
* Vehicle Searches
* Area / Outdoor Searches
* Locating / Recovering Evidence
* Suspect Identification
* Tracking
* Firearms / Ammunition Detection
* Other Searches
The Unit trains monthly to maintain its proficiency and be prepared to answer any call for assistance, 24 hours a day. Costs for the K9 Unit are supplemented by donations from businesses and the community. Anyone who would like to make a donation to assist the K-9 unit can send them to:

This week we celebrate the 1 year anniversary of Clearview on the Go, a service commitment to our clients. We offer housecall visits to our current clients for routine exams, vaccinations and in home euthanasia. Thank you to our clients who have invited us into their homes this past year, we’ve enjoyed the more personal experience and time with your pets! 🐾

THROWBACK THURSDAY - Vet Tech Week Edition!

Just want to give a HUGE thank you to all of our vet techs past and present at Clearview Animal Hospital for all of the awesome things they do everyday. We couldn't do what we do without them! ❤️🐱🐶🐹🐰

Take some time to thank your veterinary nurses this week. They work harder than anyone I know and are the glue that holds most veterinary hospitals together. Unfortunately, they don't get the recognition they deserve.

Thank you to everyone who bought raffle tickets, baked goods or donated in September during our fundraiser for Search 93 - South Central PA Search and Rescue. They are amazing group of volunteers and some pretty awesome K9s that do so much for our community. We appreciate everyone helping to meet our goal, today we were able to present them with a check from your donations! (And we were excited to see K9 Unity again 🐾)

From all of us at Search 93, we want to thank Dr (DVM) D. LaFaver, Courtney and all the staff at Clearview Animal Hospital, for all of their support. Last month they raffled off a gift basket and a held a bake sale to raise funds for K9 Individual First Aid Kits for our K9. We were also provided Benadryl for our K9, this is very special for our K9 and the handlers to have available while on searches. A special thanks to Courtney for that and our K9 love her for that. Clearview Animal Hospital is a wonderful organization/hospital and has a great staff. The support they provide our team is unwavering. We are thankful for all they do for us.

On January 22, 1994 the Hanover Evening Sun published this article featuring Dr. Hunt examining a Lhasa Apso for wounds related to weather and salt used to treat ice. It’s extremely important to take precautionary measures for both cold and hot temperatures for your pet. For winter there are pet safe products to use for ice and for heat it is important to remember not to walk pets in extreme temperatures as sidewalks temperatures can burn their paw pads.

Ok, we can’t lie… This November 18, 1982 Hanover Evening Sun article made us all laugh. Dr. Fillmore gives advice on medicating your pet. Let’s face it, we’ve all been there struggling to get the prescribed medications in our pet. We are grateful for the advances to medicine and new options like transdermal gel, long lasting injectable antibiotics, pill pockets etc that help make treating medical conditions a little easier. In the words of Dr. Fillmore “There’s really nothing to it” 😂😂😂

Raven Ridge is a non-profit wildlife rehabilitation center in Washington Boro, PA specializing in healing injured birds of prey, mammals, and waterfowl in the Lancaster County area.

On January 3, 1998 the Hanover Evening Sun published this article highlighting Dr. Pierson and his dream to become a veterinarian. It’s a common thing for staff in all positions to know at a young age they want a career in the veterinary medicine field. Clearview often participates in elementary school career days to continue to encourage the next generations of veterinarians and veterinary technicians.

Help us fill the Clearview Family Tree by showcasing your pets as the ornaments on our tree. You can create your own or stop by our lobby to pick up a free ornament kit, while supplies last. Ornaments are due by Friday, Nov 15th.

Dr. Fillmore’s Caring for your Pet Column from the Hanover Evening Sun’s November 4, 1982 edition discusses alternative pets. In this article, he specifically discusses birds as pets. While we do not see birds at Clearview, Dr. LaFaver will see some exotics like guinea pigs, rabbits, ferrets, rats, mice and hamsters. The important thing is finding the right pet to fit your lifestyle.

Join us this Friday, September 13, 2024 at 1035 High Street, Hanover PA from 9:00am-2:00pm for a Bake Sale and Meet and Greet with Search 93- South Central PA Search and Rescue.



Search 93- South Central PA Search and Rescue is a volunteer, non-profit 501c3, Search and Rescue Team dedicated to Search and Rescue needs in and around York County, PA . Search 93 currently has a total of 12 working K9s on the team in various areas of specialties. We are working to raise enough money to cover the costs of Individual First Aid Kits (IFAKs) for the 3 new K9 team members. These kits are $125 each, they also need to update their EMT medical supplies and medical supplies that will be expiring for all k9 units. All funds raised through our bake sale and monthly raffle basket donations will go directly to these expenses.

Raffle basket tickets can be purchased at the front desk all month- a winner will be picked 10/1/2024. Tickets are $1 each or 6 tickets for $5
