We had a good size turn out for our annual Gunstock dog rescue fundraiser event. If you missed it, you missed it.. I wish I had got more pics but found myself to be very busy. Thanks to all that attended. Hope to see you all next year.

Annual Local Animal Shelter/Rescue Fundraiser Party Event! 📣 The awarding shelter/rescue will be announced at the event. This charity event will be held here at the THK9 training field. There will be plenty of parking available. This is an on leash event and a great training opportunity for all of us training enthusiasts. Dogs that are in training or already trained, are welcome. Be courteous to other dogs and handlers. Respect personal space. Pls be prepared to clean up after your pup.
South Shores Favorite Classic Rock Band Gun Powder and Lead will be performing. Bring a chair and a cooler with your beverage of choice. We will have vendors selling their wares, as well.

Teaching Chip, a 3 year old Maltipoo, off leash work. Chip came in anxious, nervous, fearful especially with men. He wouldn’t stop barking. He barked at everyone and everything. A bit difficult to live with. It was cool watching his transition into a better mental place. It did take some time to bring him back to earth. He had been in that state since he was a puppy.

A couple recent little graduates. The Doberman puppy, Tris, really won me over. She was very cute and entertaining.
Teddy the Frenchie in for dog aggression issues. I’d say he did very well. Chip, the little maltipoo is also coming along well and really making me work. Outfits and creative ideas by Jody. 🙂

Charlie’s official graduation day. Charlie, a beautiful 2 year old Blu Tic Coonhound. Very dominant, completely took over the house, terrorizing his owners. Came real close to being put down for escalated aggressive behaviors. Got live bites on his owners. Personally I’ve never seen a coonhound that escalated but now I have! There was a good boy in there somewhere. I’m very happy to see him able to enjoy the smells of flowers and freshly cut grass another day. His owners are doing a great job learning the art of training and behavior modification work. I enjoyed the Charlie project and training his owners.

Freya, a 6 month old Kangal x Great Pyr cross. Very happy puppy. Loves to train. Layla, working in as her distraction dog. Then we have Max, a 4 year old Tamaskan. Big boy. Looks like a wolf. A real mama’s boy. Working through some behaviors and bringing his obedience back into check. He’s a real head turner.

Here’s an interesting cross. Rocky is a 6 month old Daniff. A Great Dane x Mastiff cross. At 6 months old he’s sprouting up quick. As adults they are quite massive and impressive. This is the first one I’ve had in. He sure is a happy puppy. Tail wagging, squirming all around.
Ollie as my distraction dog who’s an impressive boy himself. Golden crossed with an English Red Lab. The pics don’t do him justice. He’s is a beautiful big filled out dominant male. His owners held off on fixing him so he’s growing and filling out to his full size.

Fun class yesterday afternoon working with David Ladd, Grizzly and Tucson (the horse). As an Australian Shepherd will Grizzly was herding, nipping, chasing Tucson around the paddocks and lunging areas.
Also, over protective when anyone but family came in the house. Personally I like that quality. lol

UPDATE: This was shared to invoke thinking about what you might do with your animals if you had to move or had a life change. We can't reply to all comments as there were many shares and many comments. All of your thoughts are relevant and appreciated. We understand there are always extenuating circumstances. Thank you for your comments. It's all about awareness, because the animals need us to speak up for them!

This is Caroline. She moved overseas with all her animals.
She never wrote on Facebook "I'm giving up my cats and dogs because I'm moving"or I'm having a baby or I've had the animal a year, two years or more and now I suddenly don't have time for it or can't afford to feed it.
So, when you get an animal, remember that it’s a fragile creature, part of the family and must follow you everywhere you go, otherwise don’t get one!!
