Teaching Chip, a 3 year old Maltipoo, off leash work. Chip came in anxious, nervous, fearful especially with men. He wouldn’t stop barking. He barked at everyone and everything. A bit difficult to live with. It was cool watching his transition into a better mental place. It did take some time to bring him back to earth. He had been in that state since he was a puppy.
First victim to pose with the Turkey. I don’t think Max really cared about it either way. Great off leash training session with him today. He’s such a cool dog.
One of my students training off leash control with her 1 year old English Setter Odin. It needs a little work but definitely he’s getting there and that’s what “Training” is all about. Odin is very independent minded and was breed specifically for hunting. He can be a handful for sure.
Tonight’s fun! Distraction conditioning with this weeks group starting left is Seamus (GSD), Bear (Mix rescue), Louie (Weimaraner rescue), Toby (GSD rescue) on the far right. All very different in their own way and progressing well. I wouldn’t want to be doing anything else. Home in my element.
A little work with Tully at Tractor Supply. Tully is a beautiful 5.5 month old Cane Corso. He’s gonna be a big boy.
Working Bhodi’s off leash skills. He is a 1 year old Golden Retriever.
One of my all star students Winston. He’s a 2.5 year old English lab. I make them good dogs. The owners make them great dogs. He’s working in a higher level of distraction. Control with the ball and also the street, in motion stops and sit. Great control! Both dog and owner were very good students.
Training Roman at Home Depot. Roman’s in for some more serious behavior issues. He’s super smart and super dominant. He doesn’t take any crap and has no problem mixing it up. His previous trainer told the owners he should be put down. What a shame that would have been. We’ve had our ups and downs but over all I’d say he’s doing real well in his training so far. He’s really come a long way from where we started out. He’s definitely a favorite of mine. ❤️
