Wednesdays Starting January 22nd
Agility For Fun Group Class
6 week class, limit 6 dogs, $225

6-7PM: This class is for those we are interested in doing agility with their dog just for fun (not for competition, however you will learn most of the skills if you ever did want to compete with your dog and could easily transfer to a competition class). We will introduce your dog (if they havenā€™t been already) to the obstacles in agility including: jumps, tunnels, A-frame, dog walk, teeter, and weave poles. Dogs who are reactive please reach out before booking. Dogs will work one at a time in this class on the agility course so please be prepared to either work your dog out of the car or have control over them when it is not their turn (we have crates and place beds available for use).

-What to bring: for this class we will use food and toy reinforcements so please bring both!
-Prerequisites: Basic Obedience or similar group class, your dog will need to be able to work off leash with distractions. If you have any questions on whether your dog is ready for this class or they are reactive, please contact us to set up a consultation first to make sure this class is appropriate for them.

Sunday March 2nd
Building Drive & Motivation Thru Play with Julie Blanding

10AM-5PM (with a lunch break): Do you know the difference between play with an objective, play as an activity and play for reinforcement during training? Julie Blandingā€™s unique understanding of the way dogs enjoy interacting with their human companion has helped her become an expert at building drive, motivation, and work ethic through play. Julie is an accomplished competitor in Ring Sports, as well as a well-respected and highly sought after coach for Police K9 trainers, Search and Rescue (SAR) trainers, Ring Sports Trainers, and companion dog owners who are looking to build drive for canine sports, activities, and obedience.

How can this presentation of Motivation and Drive through Play help you in training your dog?If you are looking for a better attitude in the ring or during training, higher drive, or simply need some new games to play with your dog, this is for you! Julieā€™s training techniques are also amazing for channeling the focus of your high drive, high energy dog toward their training.

This seminar is for everyone who wants to learn more about motivating their dog through play, from the pet dog owner who wants to have fun in their yard, to those who are in training for IPO or Ring Sports, Police K9 Handlers and SAR handlers, and those involved in canine sports.

Dogs will work one at a time. Must be people friendly, but dog-reactive dogs are welcome, provided they can settle safely in their vehicle while waiting their turn to work. Lunch will not be provided so please come prepared.

Saturday 01/11!
Intro to Happy Ratters Workshops

$40/dog, 5 dogs a session, two sessions

The Happy Ratterā€™s Philosophy ā€“ the goal is for the dog and owner to have a fun, positive and successful experience while enhancing the bond between dog and owner, and placing a high priority on safety!

Fun, trusting environment for dogs and their handlers to find vermin(rats) in ā€œurbanā€ settings.

A titling program that allows all dogs to compete toward different level titles.

A program that encourages camaraderie and support between competitors.

ā€œurbanā€ setting: trash bags, boxes and barrels and other items possibly found in a city alley, with the big difference being this is clean trash, new bags with shredded paper, clean boxes, etc.

In this one hour workshop instructor Marianne Hall will introduce you and your dog to the sport of Happy Ratters! In this sport dogs find rats in tubes in a variety of settings. The rats are not harmed in this sport and are extremely well cared for. Dogs will work one at a time. Any dog can play Happy Ratters! If your dog isnā€™t naturally crazy about vermin you can train this sport just like any other and it can be a great outlet for your dog. We hope to start hosting trials at the building next year!

Two sessions: 9-10am and 10:30-11:30am
