"Geister stadt" in German means Ghost Town. After much debating between a few names, I finally decided on choosing Geisterstadt because as a child my family and I would go to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania during the summer. As many people know, The Battle of Gettysburg was the battle with the largest number of casualties in the American Civil War. Many people have reported ghost encounters in the cente
r of town in houses and buildings that were around during the war, the Battlefields, Sach's Bridge and Devil's Den/Little Round Top. During one of our trips to Gettysburg one year, I believe I had my own encounter with a ghost one night while staying a at campground. Gettysburg is close to my heart, and I knew I wanted to have my training name reflect on the place where I went with my family, a place I always wanted to live. There are many names I was thinking about before I settle on Geisterstadt, some of them had something to do with Gettysburg, such as Ghost K9, Battlefield K9, etc. I knew whatever I chose was probably going to be in German, my grandfather had a boat called Mein Boot, which is German for "My Boat", and I wanted something that was close to him as well, as although he passed away, he is still one of the most important people to me. I liked Geister stadt the best because it was easier to say then some other names in German I thought of, I did not want a name that was too hard to say, didn't have any meaning, was too simple or something no one would remember. Geisterstadt K9 was changed from Dog Training in Hanover, which was changed from Dog Training in Westchester. I had created the training page in January, when I was living in New York, and had not decided on a name, so I choose a basic name to start my page with, and then changed the area to Hanover when I moved from Westchester. Now that I have settled on a name, Geisterstadt K9 is here to stay! I will hopefully get the LLC this spring. Besides training I also offer basic dog supplies, such as treats, collars/leashes, toys, grooming tools, etc. Looking into becomming a dog food distrubter this year as well. I am working on different packets that I will be selling, you can choose either a folder or a binder and it will contain various information regarding feeding, health, training, etc. The packets can be standard or custom to your dog (breed, health needs, etc.). I will also be offering numerous puppy and dog packages, where you can choose one of our standard packages to fit you and your dog's needs. Packages can include toys, treats, bowls, collars, etc. I can help you find a groomer, trainers in other areas, breeder or rescues in your area as well.
