Our last two babies of the season went to their new home today!! Bye Buzz and Woody! You have a great new family who will be spoiling you so much!!
We are starting to work on our breeding schedule for 2025! It’s so exciting planning our pairings! We have our Linear Appraisal this Monday which will also help us determine who the best pairings will be!!

Day 2 of Summer Farm Camp was a great day! We have such great week of weather this week! The kids made tie dye shirts and cared for the animals and got lots of snuggles from the animals Too!! Enjoy the pics we got plenty!!! Feel free to share too!

The stinky boys got fresh sheets today in their shed- this week we also made their paddock area bigger so they have a larger area to roam! Eventually we plan to open them up to the pasture as well!

🐐Our keeper Jr Buck Galexy also was weaned this week from his mom Skye and moved in with the big boys and is fitting in just fine!!🥰
He is living with his Dad, Rhett, now!

Duck Eggs vs. Chicken Eggs 🍳
Duck eggs are larger in size than chicken eggs. The whites in chicken eggs have a higher water content (more runny) than the whites in duck eggs. Duck eggs have larger yolks and a higher yolk-to-white ratio than chicken eggs.
We have both. Yes, they are different from each other, so I am gonna break it down quick:
🦆 Duck eggs are GREAT for baking.
🐓 Chicken eggs have thinner shells.
🦆 Duck eggs are larger and richer than 🐓 chicken eggs.
🐓 Chickens are prolific layers year-round if taken care of correctly, but 🦆 ducks are as well with much less light necessity.
🦆 Duck eggs stay fresh longer because of their insanely thick shell.
🦆 Duck eggs contain 30% more protein and a different type of protein than 🐓 chicken eggs, so if allergic to chicken eggs, most can eat duck eggs and vice versa.
Ounce for ounce, 🦆 duck eggs contain more Omega-3, Vitamins A and D, fatty acids, choline, folate, and iron than 🐓 chicken eggs.
🐓 Chickens lay well for about 1-2 years, then dramatically start slowing down production, while 🦆 ducks lay solid for 4-5 years before they slow down.
🐓 Chicken eggs come in a lot more colors.
So there ya have it!

Just got some pics of our keeper buckling, Galexy, he is 11 weeks old. Galexy is out of our doe Skye who won GCH at Little Sunny Sisters show in June out of 100+ does!! His sire is Ristretto who is a 🍍Pineapple Express son!!🍍😍

We had some landscaping done today by our talented neighbor. He and his crew did an AMAZING job!! If you need landscaping done he is very affordable and does a great job and is fast!!!

Thankful is an understatement!! I had the best birthday weekend ever and ended our show with our FIRST BEST IN SHOW!!! 🏆
